So I ordered General Grabber 116 T and dealer accidentally put on 115 S, didn't notice until I was home. Went back and they agreed to getting them swapped out tomorrow for what I actually ordered. The thing is, the service manager tried talking me into keeping the standard load tires, saying there's no real difference. I gotta think if there is no real difference, then why do these trucks come with 116 T load rated tires, and why if you search anywhere for tires for these trucks, only XL rated tires are shown?

A simple Google search explains the difference between those 2 ratings.

Yeah he had it printed out when he tried to convince me. Tried to say oh are you always driving 118 mph?

They actually look saggy, even the one they overinflated.

The weight difference is what matters...

Load rating at max psi:

115=2679lb (10,716lb total)
116=2756lb (11,024lb total)

Just looking at the numbers I'm inclined to say it's a preference since the 115s will run a bit smoother. However, load rating is calculated at max tire pressure and you probably aren't running max tire pressure.

If you load your truck to max capacity on occasion it's probably worth swapping out. If not, negotiate a discount with your dealer.

Naw man, he ordered X and they gave him Y, then tried to explain away their mistake. He gets the 116 he wanted and they discount him for their fuck-up and his inconvenience.

Agree with @Henry Ford. My winters are 115 and run fine even fully loaded. I pull trailers up to 6000lbs (sometimes more) and load it heavy a few times per year, but even if you load it up with a decently heavy tongue weight on the trailer, the difference is only 150lbs per axle between 115 and 116. It would be impossible to exceed the 115 tire capacity and stay safely within the truck's capacity and legal limits if you load it properly with an appropriate load distribution hitch.

Also agree, if you run heavy most of the time (like a contractor hauling tools, supplies, trailers etc.), 116 is the way to go or even step up to LT.

Pretty much it. I was pretty happy with the stock grabbers besides an alignment issue that made the one wear strangely. That should be fixed now. I don't see a reason to replace them with anything but the exact same tires.

My truck has 115T General Grabbers from the factory. They are 22" though.

My Hankooks are 115, will probably getting the Michelins in 115 as well. Just have them make you whole price wise.
