Premium connectivity

What’s the deal with premium connectivity? I bought my ‘24 lariat this past March. I have it on free trial until 2026 but when I read the ad for it, there’s a bunch of features I don’t have. I have YouTube and Alexa and Amazon music. I don’t have news apps, weather apps, Karaoke, google play or google maps (i do through CarPlay but not built into the truck as advertised). For a free trail you’d think all features are unlocked. There’s no way I’m paying $10/month for this when it expires. I also haven’t had an OTA update since April so maybe there’s something wrong with the truck?

IMHO, this feature has little value, the most I got from it was the ability to use the embedded YouTube app on the Entertainment tab, at the moment if I want to use that all I need to do is to turn on my phones hotspot, share the connection with Sync and then it will work.

The NEWS feature was removed several months ago.

The karaoke can be made to work with hotspot routine.

As for the OTA updates...it could be one of a few things:
1) there are none issued for your truck or your truck auto update is off in the menu;
2) you are in an AT&T dead zone; or
3) your 12V (LV) battery is not at 80% or more state of charge (SOC).

Most likely it is number (3) since that seems to be the most common issue we owners have experienced.

What I did to eliminate that problem last summer was plug the truck into my Ford Charge Station Pro EVSE overnight for a charge session - the 12v battery gets charged under those circumstances - and then schedule OTAs for morning after the charge session ended.

Go on the Ford web site and put in your vin and see if there are any updates/ CSP (customer service program) that need to be done.

One we had last year dealt with the management hardware for the LV battery (23B57), and recently, there was an OTA update to maintain the LV battery better (23B70), so they say.
