2024 Lightning Flash
Hello All,

I just traded my 2014 ICE Platinum for a 2024 Flash. The only thing I never liked about the Platinum was the leather seats. I have always thought cloth was more comfortable. Leather was easier to keep clean of course. I dont really want seat covers, so my question is, what spray on protectors have any of you actually used with success on cloth seats in the low/mid tier trims? Scotch Guard was always my go too but now I see several new products with silicon dioxide (303, Chemical Guys), silicon carbide (CarPro), acrylic polymers (Soft Clad), and perfluorobutane sulfonate, like in the new "safer" Scotchguard. Evidently, none work as well as the toxic Scotchguard we all know and loved. Also, all of them have rave reviews as well as flame-throwing one-star tirades. If you have tried anything and been happy with the results, please share your feedback.

Nice to see I'm not the only person who prefers a cloth seat!

I have not done anything with the seats yet, but watching this thread. As you can see from my profile picture, I get my truck dirty, so protecting the seats is something I should do.

I did read that you don't want seat covers, however I want to jump in with this point; I have a Lightning Lariat with "leather". My wife has an XLT with cloth. She bought these seat covers on Amazon for $250 and I swear on all things oval and blue that the covers look and feel nicer than mine. I'd swap my low-grade leather for her covers in a second (although I'd miss my vented seats). If your *reason* for not wanting covers is that they look baggy and non-factory, those days are over and the fitment is unreal: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6QFZ9H7?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 otherwise, I'm of the opinion that cloth is pretty much doomed to get dirty by virtue of voids in the material... good luck!

I prefer cloth seats over leather, leatherette and such, as well. And agree with Zaptor, the cloth will get dirty. So, I use Cover King covers. Have no issues, taking them off and washing, when needed. The last thing I'd want is to spray toxic carcinogenic chemicals on my seats. Just my opinion.
