Yep, people forget to check that. Especially true on modern vehicles that have TPMS so the other tires are monitored.

I lower mine and check it every 6 months. Air to max sidewall.

I generally wait until it is put on the vehicle axle to use...I carry a 12v tire pump in a box along with other emergency stuff (tow chains and straps, trailer hitch variants/sizes, MC tie downs, etc)...I actually have two 12v pumps in the box somehow... :)

I also carry a 12V compressor in the truck along with not one, but two cans of Fix-a-Flat for Oh-Sh%t mode. There's nothing like being 20 miles up a 4x4 road when you get the 2nd flat tire. Never needed the second can, but I have used the first can at least once.

Indeed.
Around here the hazard is picking a nail or screw in the Home Depot or Lowes parking lot - already had one of those incidents, a really slow leak in a repairable area that showed up the next day in my driveway.

But I have used the pump to help a little old lady in a Cadi waiting for a triple-A tow to arrive - eta several hours - I told her to go strait to the tire shop after I filled it, and she insisted on giving me $5 - I refused multiple times but just to myself get back on the road, I had to take it....gave it to one of the homeless folks panhandling nearby who looked hungry.

I also carry jumper cables which, so far I have only had to use to help others...it isn't just Lightning's that experience 12v battery drain.

Do unto others...

I've carried my worx 20v air pump for years. I've even help people at gas stations paying to fill up their tires. It fills up nearly as fast as my compressor. Definitely way faster than any 12v pump I've had or the gas station ones. which normally would take several minutes like at least 5-10 minutes to do one tire. Where I'd be done with all 4 tires way before 10 min with the worx. Probably 5-7 min.
