If he wanted to pay for it himself (which he never said during his tirade), then there would be no need (nor benefit) to using the owner's FordPass account, or the Public Charging app (which uses the owner's FordPass account).

Since he used F*** and FordpASS and "retarded", I don't consider my telling him that his understanding on many points is incorrect as rude. He was an owner of a Lightning for since 2022, and a member of the forum for over 3 years. Clearly he didn't have a great experience with his Lightning, as his historical posts show, and so he's got an axe to grind.

Had he come into the forum and said "my goal is to drive my friend's truck from X to Y, pay for the charging myself, how do I best do that" instead of a tirade... Then again, I did give him the complete answer as to how he would do that, with all the individual apps.

Did your friend give you the adaptor for Tesla (supercharger) DC fast charging ? If so, why don’t you add the truck to YOUR Tesla app account and be on your way. Your comment about missing your Tesla leads me to believe you have one.
No fuss at all. Kinda retarded not to.
I never look for, or use, 3rd party DC fast charging, because it‘s generally inferior to the ease, convenience and absolute reliability of Tesla Superchargers.

And if you owned a Lightning since its launch, you should be well aware of the considerations when it comes to towing and distance traveling. Why the rant ?
