What does "L" or "M" do on our Lightnings again? I seem to recall reading somewhere it actually performed a useful function. That ManionMakes product looks awesome. I'm gonna pick one up to have as a backup.

Oh my mistake. My shifter is from the E transit and has an "L". I could have sworn it didn't do anything when I pushed it.It activates the 30 minute emergency neutral. It's the same function as the button with the circle arrow and "N" on the center console of the original gearshift.
I think you need to have the dial in "N", then try pushing the "L" button. It brings up a dialogue on my instrument cluster display.Oh my mistake. My shifter is from the E transit and has an "L". I could have sworn it didn't do anything when I pushed it.
Yep, this is correct. I just pretend it means “Neutral Lock”.I think you need to have the dial in "N", then try pushing the "L" button. It brings up a dialogue on my instrument cluster display.
I have the dial from an Escape, but all of the center buttons on confirmed dials should behave the same as far as I recall.
