Hope it doesn't deter you from asking questions in the future. :)
There is a lot that has been figured out about our trucks, but a lot that hasn't.

Speaking for myself, I can say I have learned quite a bit from the questions people ask when they encounter something unexpected, or have some kind of major system failure (knock on wood), or just another glitch caused by an OTA (over the air) update.

My mantra is put your 12v battery on a maintainer with an AGM mode when you are not using the truck and you will avoid a lot of error messages and other problems like premature 12v battery death...so before that happens to you, here's a suggestion.

thanks, did a bunch of reading on the 12v battery, already have a maintainer on it!

No need for a maintainer. If you plan to leave the truck sit for more than a month, disconnect the battery, it'll be just fine until you reconnect it. Otherwise just drive it and don't let the fear mongers in here spook you.

Haha they already did, and so did the 12v batteries on sone other EVs so I'm gonna do it

Not 24/7, but the few times q week I'm not driving long or far

I also check the 12v via the OBD2 port every time I drove

Ya, they come standard like that. I have no idea why they didnt paint them at the manufacturer.
It's thick enough to outlast the useful life of the truck without failing due to rust. Paint would cost money and have no functional benefit.

Have a 2-month-old 2025 F-150 flash that had been sitting at the dealer for a while. Attached a picture.

Any reason to worry about this? Don't have any actual problems just wondering if this is normal

Thanks

Normal? Yes. However they fixed it on the 2026 models, so I suggest you work with your dealer on a trade-in.
