New truck - few weeks old. Had to maneuver around someone that pulled out in front of me, and that nut rolled out from under the dash. I feel like that is best fastened somewhere?

That looks like one of the 4 bolts that bolt in the steering column. I would definitely check that they are installed.

It might be just an errant bolt but I think you should still report it to your Ford dealer. If it’s not required to hold something in place, Ford needs to know that one of their assembly line workers is leaving loose bolts in their trucks.

Very well could be but I would hope that the bolts that secures the steering column would be a little beefier. I would lay upside down with my flashlight and See what I see. You may very well see the missing bolt hole that is in question.
