Can't help but feel this is staged. Why would someone set this up and not stay with the truck, not to mention the license plate.

I think it would be cool to have a big ICE generator that could charge the truck while driving. Apparently magna is designing full electric drive train hybrid system that can do that. It would greatly extend the range and alleviate the need for a reliable charging network!

Sure. Somewhere, there may be a Lightning driver that is so stupid they run out of electricity, and have someone bring a generator to charge them up, vs. just calling Ford's free roadside assistance.

Or, they're even dumber and drive around with a generator just in case.

It would fix one problem, but not another. Gas and diesel generators emit lots of NOx and other pollutants. LG units are better, but still worse. Before anyone mentions the pollution from power stations - I agree we have to transition to cleaner generation. - Hydro, Solar, Wind and

If you have no choice and you can’t risk being stranded, then yea sure it would work. I would even contemplate doing that too if I didn’t know the local charging infrastructure.
