Sticky / Tacky Dashboard

I have a 2024 Platinum Lightning that is mostly kept in hot outdoor Florida. It's about 18 months old and the dashboard is getting sticky or tacky.

My Previous 2023 Lariat when I bought it was parked outdoors on Florida on a dealer lot for o about a year before I bought it. It also had a sticky dashboard at delivery. Prior to signing the paperwork, the dealer had the tech "clean” the dashboard with a cleaner and the stickiness went away.

Does anyone have experience of what to use on the dashboard that won't cause any negative results?

Yes. It is a well known issue along with the cloudy drivers Side airbag cover that I was told was normal after 2 airbags were replaced for this issue.

Just clean it and armor all it. A little protectant will go long way.

What should I use to clean it with? I'm reluctant to use Amor All because it may introduce a shiny appearance and cause a reflection on the windshield.

If I would use any protectant it would trust 303 Automotive Protectant nore. It produces a non-greasy, matte finish.

The armor all brand and others have cleaners and various protectants, including a non shiny version. I never liked the shine so I've always used the matte ones.

Great suggestion. But;

If wasn’t a lease I’d spend the money on ceramic tint. In 20 months it goes back to Ford.

UPDATE:

I took some 303 Aerospace Protectant for Vinyl, Plastic & Rubber that I've had for several years, and sprayed it on a microfiber cloth. I then vigorously rubbed the 303 Aerospace Protectant cloth on all the top surfaces of the dash. After letting it sit for a few minutes I took a dry Microfiber cloth and wiped it down.

Now it is 2 days later and after leaving the truck in the hot Florida sun the dash is no longer sticky. Hopfully it will last.
