Wondering if anyone else has put a golf cart in the bed and taken a long trip? Wondering how much the additional weight/drag will impact my range..

Assume 50%. Depending on speed, wind, you MIGHT do better.

My understanding is maximum weight in the bed is only a 10% reduction. Then add in the additional wind resistance due to the high profile of the golf cart roof.

It's towing that kills the range.

My Flash is heavily loaded with Plumbing goods. I'm at 2.3 miles per kwh after 6000 miles.

I think you'll do better, does it have a roof? Most of that cart will be within the slip stream. The weight will have negligible affect

Thanks Rick! I am going to test it out on a two hour trip that I have taken before, and see what happens. :)

Yup, I was just telling Rick that I am going to test it out this weekend on a two hour trip that I normally do, to see what the difference is going to be.

When loading the cart, how much weight is on the tailgate? Do you use ramps or a loading dock. Any issues with the tailgate since it will be holding lead acid or lithium batteries?

I have a trailer i use for my ryobi lawn tractor with 4-100 ah lead batteries. Has a loading ramp that allows me to drive right up it at a low angle..but the f150 is much higher , not sure what your loaded weight is with the cart.
