Fellas, I’m running two Garmin Mini 2 cams in my truck, I power them with the Garmin OBDII power plug (both cords are USB and plug into it. )

Problem is, the rear camera comes on right away, as soon as I start the truck. the front cam on the other hand can take upwards of 30 minutes to power on. I wrote Garmin, but I’ve not had much luck with the customer service yet.

Has anyone else experienced power problem using the OBDII plug?
I hit a bird the other day and went back to check the footage, the front cam caught our reactions after the bird hit, but nothing before. Stinks!

If both cameras are powered by the same OBD adapter one would assume that it's camera related and not OBD plug by itself.
The adapter doesn't communicate with OBD as such, it's just that it's a convenient location to pull constant power and ignition all in one connector.

Have you tried swapping USB ports (not that it should matter).
Have it always been like this or did it just start ?
Factory reset the front camera ?

We’re in the same page :). After I posting, I switched the plugs in the connector to test it today. I will see if I can do a factory reset today too, thanks for the tips mr.Magoo! Have a great day!

Yea, that’s a downside to the Dongar adapter. I don’t worry as much about being parked so for my purposes it works great.

Well, I did have to end up going back to the Dongar adpater for the front cam. I got rid of Garmin's OBDII plug returning it), there was just too many problems with it actually turning on the cams and too many variables that just weren't working regarding Parking Guard etc, I got annoyed really fast with it. I ended up running the rear cam with the long cord to the rear plug in the console. Solved. Now, time to calm down.
