With the latest update for 2022-2024 F-150 Lightning, it has one-button activation which allows you to simply press the Adaptive Cruise Control button to engage BlueCruise or Adaptive Cruise Control without worrying about making sure Lane Keeping is activated on the steering wheel. However, this can be turned off by simply pressing the Lane Keeping button. The team are continuing to explore the best user experience and I have passed along the feedback you have shared.
@Ford Motor Company I am sorry, BUT I do NOT have Adaptive cruise control.... just regular ole cruise control. I am far from "worried about making sure that lane keeping is activated"... I DO NOT want it on at all.

I do realize I can turn it off with the additional press of a button, but I guess Ford does not understand that I do NOT want to have to do a superfluous extra button press just to use basic cruise control. I would even consider it a safety issue as I often find myself looking down, removing my eyes from the road, just to ensure I got the right "extra" button.

Instead of explaining how great the "Feature" is, why not accept the fact that it is unwanted, unnecessary, and, to be honest, loathed by the customer?

Sorry for the edgy response, but after an expensive purchase, it is frustrating when something with the vehicle is so very very frustrating, and I am essentially told sorry nothing can be done, your better off the way it is.

I do appreciate that you passed along the feedback I and everyone else has shared.

maybe I'm missing something within your 'edgy' thoughts,
but I believe you can easily disable 'Lane Keeping' assist and alerts within
the Driver Assistance SETTINGS.

Unfortunately not, from what I can see... I just went out into the driveway to check, (Just in case I was making an a$$ of myself LOL) - and went into the Driver assist settings, it allowed me to set it to alert, aid, or alert+aid. no option to tun off or disable.

It did say to turn off the feature to check the owner's manual, which tells me to press the button. No option to disable other than that.

From my experience, Lane Centering is automatically deactivated when Cruise is turned off, or the brake is applied, but Lane KEEPING Alert continues, unless you PHYSICALLY turn it off.
That's not what happens to me. If I turn on cruise, it automatically enables Lane-Centering. It stays enabled even if I turn off cruise or brake. I have to press the steering wheel button shown below to turn it off - and then I get the popup Lane Centering Off.

I never mess with Lane-Keeping. I have it set to Alert only. There is no steering wheel button to turn it off. You have to go into Settings.

Wait, to be clear, is it activly centering your truck in the lane with the cruise off? Or just that it stays enabled for the next time you enable cruise.

I was not aware these trucks enabled lane centering without cruise being active, and I could be wrong but I thought it had to be adaptive cruise too. I do know these features are closely related and I cannot in any way enabled lane centering on my truck since I do not have adaptive cruise.

How sensitive is yours? Pointing out that you have lane keeping, aka lane departure warning. I have to be almost in the other lane for lane keeping to bump the steering wheel. I have to be honest, if its like mine, its close enough to the other lane to be dangerous, as in tires touching paint, before it bumps the steering wheel.

Now, when it grabs the INSIDE line and turns INTO the corner, that I still have not gotten used to.

I currently have it set as mild as I can... alert only. By default when I took possession of the truck, it was set to Alert+Aid and it was quite aggressive.

I had cruise control turned on, not realizing that once cruise was activated that it also turned on this unwanted setting, and I was on a narrow rural road, going around a medium left bend in the road. Another truck in the opposite lane was coming toward me. the road being narrow, meant I stuck to the outer part of the lane, and my right tires came to the line on the edge of the road. Well, the truck reacted, felt like it was jerking me to the left, like it wanted to pull me into the oncoming lane. (and yes I know it is only "Lane keeping, but it still felt very unwelcome when not expecting it.)

I immediately dug into the settings, and reduced the effect to it's lowest setting, alert only, removed the aid portion etc... but found no way to turn it off altogether. Any time I want to use cruise control I am forced to turn the feature on with one button, and then use a separate button to turn off the lane keeping setting. Sometimes forgetting, then cursing, once I am reminded whenever I do a lane change or travel narrow roads etc... and I then turn it off.

Actively centering with my hand on the wheel. I can feel it constantly adjusting. Just like if you are not in Cruise (mine is set for Adaptive), and you turn on lane centering with the steering wheel control. No cruise but active lane centering. The green icon on the instrument cluster is on.

Non-AI Brian confirmed Ford did this on purpose when you enable Cruise.

I think some of these variations are due to both the TRIM level of the truck, and, in my case, the fact that my PRO SR did not originally come with any AdaptiveCruise/LaneCentering, I added it myself later... so, therefore, my truck's steering wheel layout has NO buttons for either of these, only 'CRUISE', in the original term. I also have no setting for 'FOLLOWING Distance'.

- my Lane KEEPING setting is on 'Aid' only, in case I lose my concentration when NOT on Cruise...
yes, it can seem 'severe' when it senses deviation from the lane, but I'd rather it make an adjustment, than not...
I've never used the LK right-side steering wheel button to disable this.

- my Lane CENTERING is ONLY Active when I activate CRUISE, the left-side steering wheel button, or either 'up/down' arrow button which now is for ADAPTIVE Cruise , since that is how I have it set within my Settings... it is disabled immediately as soon as the middle 'enable/disable' button is pressed, or the brake is applied. Lane Centering will NOT work on it's own, though I wish it would.
