@RLXXI @EVpower It used to let you turn it off. There is still a toggle in Sync under Cruise Control. But it doesn't work anymore. I haven't tested if you change from Adaptive to Normal.

Thought so. My guess would be one would need to use regular cruise control instead of adaptive in order for it to not fight one with the wheel.

It seems to work when I disable it correctly using the toggle on mine even with Adaptive Cruise still enabled.

Interesting. Have you not received the IPMA update then? (If unsure DM me your VIN and I'll check).

And by saying it works - you mean the toggle works, i.e., LKA does not automatically come on anymore when you turn on cruise.

I updated it in FDRS a couple months back so everything should be on the latest including BC 1.4. I toggled the lane keeping off on the center screen and when I turned on CC, it didn't default to hands-on lane centering when I was driving. I'll doublecheck again the next time I go out.

Hmm, I tested mine today. I turned off the toggle I showed in post 15. And when I turned on CC on a city street (non BC), I immediately got the popup that Lane Keeping was enabled and the instrument cluster confirmed. So despite the toggle being off, LKA still turned on with cruise for me..

I did not try a BC highway. The info screen for that toggle states:
Ford F-150 Lightning Lane Keeping (or Lane Centering) automatically engages with Cruise Control? 1754166587865-4

which kinda reads that it disables hands-free BC.

hmm...just retried and I don't even seem to be getting the pop up anymore when enabling cruise but hands-on lane centering takes over as expected. If I have cruise enabled and hit the lane centering with hands-free toggle to off on the APIM, the lane centering turns off. Lane centering also remains off if I toggle it off prior to enabling cruise. I did install a Comma a few weeks ago but I had it disconnected while testing and wouldn't think the harness would have anything to do with it. If the IPMA wasn't such a pita to get to, I disconnect the harness and try again.

Ah, didn't realize you have a Comma. Doesn't the Comma have an interface box that intercepts the bus messages to/from the IPMA? If so, maybe it's doing something even with the Comma disconnected???

Yeah it has a plug that goes into the IPMA. Kind of odd behavior since it seems to be working normally but just doesn't give the pop up. If you hit the toggle while you're driving with cruise/lane-centering on does it stop the lane-centering?

On my 22 platinum if lane centering is off (toggle or the button on the steering wheel) it disengages Blue Cruise instantly if blue cruise is already activated. If not blue cruise never activates even though adaptive cruise control is toggles in.

Yep, it's incredibly annoying. I've built the muscle memory to cancel the lane keep when turning on cruise.
@Ford Motor Company You need to revert that update. It was not a good idea. Please have whoever you gave a bonus to for suggesting it return said bonus. Thanks.
Yep - still no response from @Ford Motor Company, which is sad. They need to revert that update. I cannot even fathom why they think I want that lane assist turned on when all I want is plain old cruise control.

It's still there. and it works. I would never use hands free but I use cruise control all the time and I've had this setting for two years. I'm not in my truck but there is a setting under cruise control for lane alert. I have mine set to alert me by vibrating the steering wheel.

some of us are using the term 'Lane KEEPING', when we may actually be referring to the self-steering 'Lane CENTERING' function, which are obviously DIFFERENT technologies, although both have to do with 'keeping' the vehicle within the stripes:

Lane KEEPING is simply an Alert, or a 'bump' of the steering wheel, when it senses the vehicle is too close to either side road STRIPE... you can customize which type of 'help' you'd like: ALERT Only, ASSIST, etc. If you don't like any 'ping ponging' action, you can turn that 'assist' off, and have only an Alert, or maybe even Nothing.

Lane CENTERING is more of what we think about when we want 'hands free' driving: although there are two different forms of this: A) Adaptive Cruise w/LCC, or B) BlueCruise

Adaptive
is the simpler, more basic, Lane Centering, with hands-on Alert, AND Cruise 'Control' - whch includes 'following distance' control, as well as 'stop and go' automated slowing and braking, and even full STOP, when a vehicle slows in front of the truck.
From my experience, Lane Centering is automatically deactivated when Cruise is turned off, or the brake is applied, but Lane KEEPING Alert continues, unless you PHYSICALLY turn it off.

BlueCruise is the same, although with activation ONLY on pre-mapped roadways, interstates, etc., and may also include automated Lane Changing, etc. The 'hands-free' steering also allows for real 'non-alert' automated Lane Centering.

With the latest update for 2022-2024 F-150 Lightning, it has one-button activation which allows you to simply press the Adaptive Cruise Control button to engage BlueCruise or Adaptive Cruise Control without worrying about making sure Lane Keeping is activated on the steering wheel. However, this can be turned off by simply pressing the Lane Keeping button. The team are continuing to explore the best user experience and I have passed along the feedback you have shared.

It was better when the two (cruise and lane keeping) where independent of each other. Anytime you start adding dependencies you start introducing unintended behaviors.
