Finally got it done!

I did a ton of research (and a little bit of crossing fingers/toes) to make sure that everything was going to fit without any rubbing, and it turned out great!

Wheels are Ford Tremor 18's, tires are BFG KO3 285/75R18, and I also got the Eibach front struts to level everything.

This looks outstanding. Are those KO's 33" or 34"??

Your post has your question embedded in the quote, but the post you’re quoting lists the tire size. They are 35” tires.

That upgrade looks amazing. I am going to do the exact same thing with my 24 Platinum, except with Artturo XT's in a 275/70R18. 2 Questions:

1. I have found on several sites that the 23 & 24 Tremor Wheels are not compatible with the Lightning. Obviously this is not correct as they are in use all over the web, but do you have any idea why they might be deemed not compatible? I think it may have something to do with the weight but I'm not sure.

2. The Tremor wheel is a 34mm offset. Compared to your old wheel, does this give you any additional poke? If so, how much? Significant or barley noticeable? I ask because the Platinum wheels are a 44mm offset and I was wondering if I may need to pick up a half inch spacer for the Tremor wheels.

Thanks for sharing. Your new set up looks amazing.

Those tires are only supposed to fit 8 inch and up wheel. The Tremor wheels are 7.5. Have you had any problems?

Tire Rack says 7.5” - 9.5” wheels; are you seeing 8”+ straight from the manufacturer? In any case width requirements are usually very conservative in my experience.

Ford doesnt list them as "compatible" due to weight ratings - they are not rated for the max load that the lightning is capable of. I dont plan to ever load or tow at the max's so I'm not worried about it.

I know it has some additional poke - I dont remember how much exactly, but it isnt much, and its barely noticeable. This was my biggest concern because I'm not a fan of the look of tires poking out - its really a non-issue. Unless you look really close, you wont notice it.

I'm not sure about the offset question - I believe the Lariat wheels are 40mm offset and the Tremor wheels I put on are 34mm, so I gained an extra 6mm of clearance away from the suspension. If your wheels are 44mm, then you should gain 10mm of clearance from the suspension - a spacer is just gonna push the wheel out farther and give you more poke.

^^^ This!

I checked it, and the shop that mounted them didnt mention anything, so I'm not worried too much about it. If the width was going to be a problem, the shop would have refused to install them, or at least mentioned it and probably made me sign a waiver as a "CYA" move.
