To be fair. About 15% of the Lightnings parts are from Europe. Also the battery cells are from Asia on the early years, and domestically still manufactured by an Asian company….

So you did still purchase a foreign vehicle.

Really? Better explain that to Telsa since EVERY Tesla vehicle has the charge port on the left rear corner and every Tesla SuperCharger is laid out with that understanding (not as much of an issue with V4 since the cables are longer). About the only time that does not work well is when towing - but then essentially nothing except a pull through spot works very well.

With that said, I agree that the charge port location of the Lightning is about the worst place it could be.

Whatever it is will have to be set up for significant towing like the Lightning. That means towing capacity and it means a charge port at the front of the truck. Left-rear charge ports are incompatible with charging at 99.5% of existing DCFCs.

I was clearly talking about charging while towing.

Read the whole post. You took the last sentence out of context. What I said was:

Maybe you should read my entire post because even what you quoted specifically addressed towing. Having the charge port in the front still does not help at MOST charge stations as nosing up to a charger would leave the trailer blocking the driveway / road that everyone else needs to use. It also requires backing up the trailer in a crowded parking lot - which for many people can be a problem. For towing, without unhooking, about the only viable solution is pull through spots. Fortunately more and more charging locations DO have at least a limited number of pull through spots.

You didn't study rhetorical's in school did you. To be honest I shouldn't be driving Fords either, don't much care for their designs either but they appeal to me more than Euro designs by far.

I should be driving a Dodge, they have the most beautiful designs of all of them, always have.

I had a deposit on their EV truck until they pulled the plug on it.

What school did you attend where “rhetoricals” were studied? Clearly they need to invest in their English education as the grammatically correct phrase you’re looking for is “rhetorical questions.” Believe me, I’m not the grammar police, but you did open yourself up to that one…. Not being hostile, more like playfully vexing.

It's all about the designs. From cosmetic (mainly) to mechanical. I've worked on them all except exotics. Wheel alignment on a Benz is a fking nightmare, Jaguar is no better, Alpha Romeo, Triumph, Saab, Bmw, even worked on a Yugo.

Not one of them left me wanting one although the right hand drive 65 Benz I once drove did appeal a little. I think it was the novelty of the right hand drive.

It’s all good, just giving you a hard time. It is a bummer about the BEV RAM. Though maybe a good thing due to their plethora of quality issues. I do look forward to seeing reviewers getting their hands on the RAM Charger to see what it can do.

My 2 cents... I'll figure it out in another 8 years when my 10y BtB extended warranty runs out. I'm not worried about the next 6 years left on the battery warranty.

Having towed for around 30,000 miles and charged in a large number of DCFC stations I have been able to charge without unhooking 90-95% of the time. That is a huge help.

I do what I can to minimize the impact on traffic but the other vehicles can go around. And yes, I have to back up the trailer most of the time.
