In spring of 24 we drove to Vermont with our brand new Tesla adapter to ski. At the SuperCharger in Williston, a CT pulled in, and drew the crowd. When I had a chance, I went over to strike up a conversation. It was amazing how he knew nothing about the truck, nothing. His most knowledgeable comment was how he bought it out of state and needed to pull together the sales tax in a few days for Vermont to the tune of $7 or $8,000. Otherwise, he was clueless.

I think many of the owners of the Hummer EV are as well. Look at me, I own it, but know nothing.

That is not unusual for many EV owners. We on the forum are the nerds that want to know everything.

I have a friend who has owned a Cadillac Lyriq for over a year. He has driven it 15,000 miles already. It amazes me when he calls me with basic questions.

Your memes are cute,😊
However,
There’s almost 8 billion people on earth, before the car the horse did fine bringing food to “local” markets. Your EV’s parts would still sit on a foreign dock if it wasn’t for diesel.

Ridiculous statement,

All ships use DIESEL
Most trains are DIESEL
99% of Semi trucks are DIESEL

If you think global trade can survive without, then I have bad news for you.

My F350 was deleted, if you know what that means you’ll know how I feel about the whole situation….

EV is cool, but you’re not too bright if you think we can just get rid of diesel.

As for your clean air and lung cancer, Ever been to the 3rd world, they’re way way more people than in North America. Guess what, most don’t have any pollution control, millions of trucks (far more than in the U.S.) run big pipes with big black dirty soot spewing out their pipes, pollution blows right around the World, you’re gonna breath it like it or not….

You have a much better chance of getting cancer from your next flu vaks than my diesel truck, besides Trump is rolling back all the BS regulations.

Clueless my friend , you’re absolutely clueless…!
If everyone thought like you there would be no electric vehicles.

Progress will eliminate or clean up all that diesel you seem to love so dearly.

I guess your either too young or too sheltered to remember how bad smog used to be before catalytic converters?

How much lead there was spewed into the environment from leaded gasoline?

So are you saying let's be like 3rd world countries and pollute the heck out of things?

Cancer from vaccines? I guess science is not your thing?

Maybe you're too young to remember the polio epidemics and this thing called the iron lung, kids in wheel chairs before the polio vaccines....OMG!

So, in view of your last post, I give up, trying to use logic and common sense in this discussion.

As Larry the cable guy said "you can't fix" some things.

@chl

Chris,

Ugh 😣 you made me remember all the things I didn’t want to remember, Things like the horrible smog, iron lungs, plus before vaccines measles and more recently a friend who died with the flu and. 2 friends who died from Covid because they were anti-vax.

We have progressed so much since my childhood but with the recent rollbacks I’m concerned for future generations. Next thing we will once again have to bring back “duck and cover” practice in schools. That’s the “good old days“. Not the Ozzie and Harriet or Leave it to Beaver days.
