As an EV owner for almost 9 consecutive years plus a current Tesla Model Y and Lightning owner I miss and wish the following features were on my Lightning that are included on the Tesla. Don;t get me wrong, I love the Lightning just these features would make it so much better.
  1. Apple Watch APP that can be used as a key and monitor and control the Truck
  2. Ability to DC fast charge at at least 250 kws
  3. Reliable and abundant DC Fast charging stations (Telsa NACS charging hopefully will fix this)
  4. push software updates more quickly to everyone
  5. Have camera Sentry Mode
  6. Have Dog Mode
  7. Have ability to watch Netflix when parked while waiting in parking lot wile wife is shopping
  8. Ability to
  9. Ability for Fordpass to:
    • See the lock/unlock status of the truck remotely
    • See the open/closed status of the fronk and tailgate
    • Remotely view cameras
    • See the inside and outside temperature of the truck

Was reading about someone’s Mach-E stolen from their garage on the MME forum. At this point, if we could get Pin to Drive, that would be nice. I can wait for everything else.

You traded all of those features to have a truck with a frunk and more torque. I miss the dog mode with the bill board message a lot. The OTA was also the best with Tesla as well as the Supercharging network

Its obviously not a solution to every problem but I was very unhappy with the FordPass App so I've been contributing to the FordPass HomeAssistant integration.

I can tell you that from looking at what is currently enabled
See the open/closed status of the fronk and tailgate
Will not happen because that data is not there. I was hoping to be able to implement this into the integration. Unless something changes on the truck side, and they are grabbing that physical sensor data - it will not be in the app.

Along the same HomeAssistant integration line:

See the lock/unlock status of the truck remotely
can be seen using the integration
an automation could probably be enabled that "If phone no longer connected to AndroidAuto/CarPlay/Bluetooth - wait x sec/min (if wanted) - lock truck"
Same with "Arrival at home for x time, or at x time" etc

If I remember correctly

See the inside and outside temperature of the truck
The data should exist in HomeAssistant for the outside - but I do not know how accurate that is. It's been a bit since I've been into the code.

Next time I hop in I'm hoping to be able to implement Stop/Start Charging.

These obviously would be very nice features to have on the vehicle, especially when they are capable of it. It shouldn't take the community to implement "features" that basically already exist - they just aren't presented.

After thinking on this for a while, and working on my own / HomeAssistant thing I think the main problem with the FordPass App is they are trying to make the FordPass App EVERYTHING.
Trip Scheduling, Insurance, Shopping, Charger Finding, Vehicle Data, Dealer Locater, Point System, Banking System, Subscription Service, etc

I personally think there should be a Vehicle App - and everything else should be on the website or something. Make the App usable, and good, for the expensive vehicles ALREADY purchased. I'm assuming the app team/devs are probably stretched thin trying to put everything into 1 app. They are adding things, but nothing is perfected. Just my $0.02
I hope the App gets better over time, but currently I've basically abandoned using it entirely.
My "smart" well equipped truck end when I turn it off and lock the doors.

And I’d love to see the following Ford F150 Lightning features, on my Teslas:
1) 360 Camera View- no modern vehicle should be without this. Period.
2) Blind Spot Monitoring, without having to activate turn signals.
3) Lane changes that don’t turn off Tesla Autosteer (“Lane Centering,” in Ford nomenclature). Likewise, the ability to steer around an object in the road without causing cancellation of Tesla Autosteer.
4) Speed sign recognition that results in automatic speed adjustment (upward as well as downward) in basic Autopilot’s adaptive cruise control.
Ford has more than a few features that Tesla would do well to emulate. I love the “on rails” feel of Tesla Autopilot, but prefer the element of driver control that Ford has maintained in its Lane Centering.
Tesla’s refusal to add the downward side cams to generate birdseye 360 view is just irrational.

^^^^^. That plus the excellent ride that the Lightning exhibits compared to Tesla is the reason I stated I love the Lightning. In my original listing.

I can’t understand Fords apparent unwillingness to comment on software update commitment. They only seem to want to make promises regarding the next gen EVs.

Great ideas.

I would also LOVE a "Preheat Battery Now" function both in FordPass and on-screen. People are going to use third party charging apps. Having pre-heat tied to the slow and quirky native ford nav is dumb. Also, my pre-conditioning RARELY works. Just give us a freaking button.
