This was shared here earlier in the week. Brian from Ford said that it’s a prioritization due to an aluminum shortage not a cancellation. Thread went on for a while, in case you want to read it and feel out people's thoughts. No formal cancellation announced but things don’t look great.

Say it anit so!

Someone please prove this article wrong.

@Ford Motor Company , what say you?

That is why I leased by XLT last Feb when they offered dirt cheap leases. I can just hand in the keys at the end of the 36 months and Ford can eat the loss. What they need to do is offer a high performance XLT version with maximum range and bring it in high 50s. Its a great truck and will go down in the dust bin of history of a failed EV project. Too bad.

2022 Lightning Platinum EV

Book value, typical miles/condition

2022: $91,000

2023: $47,000

2024: $34,000

2025: $29,000

Exactly. ^^^^

I don't believe Ford is going to do any such thing.

I'm just going to wait and see if Ford makes an announcement.

As a new LIGHTNING owner and FORD loyalist I must say the masses have no idea how great this truck is: I've had '13, '16, and '22 F150 CC (all 3.5 ECOBOOST ICE and '22 I traded was hybrid = POWERBOOST) and IMHO this truck is superior to the ICE or HYBRID versions: now getting sales up to where they need to be to justify keeping LIGHTNING in production is another matter - I would imagine the biggest deterrent to sales (besides price) is RANGE, but I would think that RANGE will be improving yearly, and even anticipate a battery upgrade in a few years for all current LIGHTNINGs out there, so hopefully FORD "toughs it out" and stays the course -
if not I'm glad I jumped on the bandwagon, and believe if they discontinue these trucks they'll be CLASSICS (but I''l be long gone!)
FORD - I hope you can figure out how to make this a profitable vehicle - it is an outstanding truck!!!

The masses don’t care, and therein lies the entire problem. No matter how much we all love them, it’s a major dud from a sales perspective. Forget the profit, there’s simply no demand. Time to move on.
