Curious about others' thoughts on whether ordering for the 23's will be a little more ala carte than what we're seeing for the 2022's. Personally, I think Ford intentionally offered limited option packages partly to steer buyers to higher margin configurations, but also to streamline the production ramp-up with limited variables. With the ramp-up behind them this Fall, I'm thinking (hoping) that the 2023's will be available with more options and flexibility in configuration. In my case, I'd like a Lariat+ ER but really don't want a moonroof on my truck. I'd also like some choice in interior color, wheels, 2-tone paint, etc. You know -- some of the choices available on the ICE trucks.

I really don’t think there will be that much change. They are trying to get the product out the door ASAP as they had 200K preorders.

All I'd really really ask for is to be able to keep my B&O Unleashed in a Lariat Lightning... ?

I want the B&O Unleashed in my Pro ?
It's seriously holding me back! ?
I mean, I don't have an invite yet, and not even sure I'll get one for MY22, but the thought of paying more and losing the Unleashed I have now might very well keep me from ordering. Maybe I should just enjoy the truck I have now for a few years. Lol

I might end up getting a MY22 invitation but I am also considering pushing my back all the way up to MY24, possibly waiting until the 2nd gen. I agree that there will be more options. One thing I am still taking into consideration is that Ford won't update previous gens EV to meet the battery capabilities of the new gens even though there is no difference. I believe Ford updated the EV range on the MY22 Mach-E but said they would not provide a software update to the 1st gen. I not sure what to do at this point.

Agreed. Good points.

And actually, if I could just get them to fix the BlueCruise fiasco on my current Job 1 truck, I'd be all settled and would definitely wait a couple model years.

Also another good point about Blues Clues. My 21 XLT EB only came with the regular Co-Pilot which works well IMO. Having this 21 also give me over 500 miles to a tank. But its like playing Russian roulette with these gas price lol......

Oh, that’s a bad doodoo… losing the support on these iPads on wheels…
For me, if i do get the invite and Pro is available, the question is between a 200 mile EV for 40k (40k + options + sales taxes - federal tax rebate) or wait few years and see if there we can get better specs at 40k or lower. With inflation and upward tick of prices, I doubt truck prices will get any better but thought of losing support and having an out of support ipad as my primary driver for the next 20 year is unsettling (or take a massive hit on resale).

At some point all vehicles will lose some or all technology connected support as the wireless carriers transiTimon from one platform to another. This is currently happening with 3G in a variety of applications, including certain GM vehicles that rely on 3G modems. It also happened in the early 2000s when wireless carriers transitioned from analog to digital. The question will just be when. How much longer will 4G be around before the wireless carriers sunset it for the next big thing?

I'm not going to have an F150 EV until a Pro SR is available for me.

So while I can't predict when, or even IF that is going to happen, I'm OK. I'm not angry or distressed or........ At 64 years old I have come to terms with I can't always have what I want.

Having said all that, the EV world, especially in the truck format, is in its infancy. The future is in my favor for what I am looking for.

It's possible Ford will also increase battery capacity for MY23 and/or MY24, if they don't they may end up taking a sales hit vs the Silverado.

You may get 10 or 20 more miles due to tweaks, but I wouldn't expect 400+ miles without a significant cost increase until the next generation truck. There's a reason that the Chevy is debuting at $105k and if you listen carefully it sounds like the $40k version will NOT have 400 miles of range.
