PTS/FDRS VIN Check Thread

FORScan will not work to the updates. If you have FDRS already, then there are enough pending updates to justify buying a $50 license to do them. If you have to buy all the equipment needed, then whether the investment is worth it or not will depend on who you ask. I think anyone who has the disposable income to buy a Mongoose should have one, but that's just me.

A friend of mine is a mechanic and has FDRS and some type of adapter(I don’t know if it’s a mongoose or not, never paid that close of attention) that I have used before! I purchased this adapter to use forscan to reprogram a back up camera on my expedition-I don’t know if it would work with FDRS-I just hate to bug him about things that I can do myself with the right equipment!

You can sometimes find a used one on ebay or on the "for sale" sections of different Ford forums. If you see one on ebay, just confirm the part number is for Ford and OPUS makes them for many manufacturers and they all look the same.

OTA history and modules pending updates are below:

The update failed due to an issue installing of the files. In this case, PTS does not give any clear details as to what happened citing "errorCode":"85""errorCategory":"7""ecuId":"2000""fpn":"PU5T-14G676-CC". This is internal lingo that would only make sense to Ford engineers.

It's on Sync 23159 which is one version behind the latest one. Modules pending updates are below. Once that GWM you see there is updated, it will release more updates for other modules that are not showing an update pending now since some updates are installed sequentially.

Thanks for the info. Assume FDRS for the Lightning is the same as my Mach-E. Does all the last updated 16 January 2024 dates mean that's the date the truck was assembled? From the window sticker I can see the blend date was 12/7/2023.

No, that was the last time those modules reported their current status to the server.

@shelnian btw, yes fdrs is the same as the Mach e. Same 40amp minimum power supply is required.

It's been in the shop for 25 days now.
I asked for an update on Tuesday and here's the response:

The tech is on it, just have to bounce back and forth with programming dept.

Just received a new update after texting and calling multiple times on Friday for an update.

According to my tech and service director, we have done what they have asked, looking to see what they would like us to do next.

Seems like they have no idea what they are doing. They've had it for 29 days and haven't made any progress at all.

Truck is on the latest Sync version. Modules pending updates are below and last OTA was ECG-24.2.4.9 which is one of the more recent ones last month.
