Should I buy Fleet 2024 Pro ER or 2024 Flash?

Why did they waste all that money installing a faux charge door if they never planned on putting in an option to either charge 2x faster or the ability to charge from either side.

From an astectic point of view, who cares if it matches. Have you ever seen dual gas flaps that didn't have dual gas tanks?

I think Ford had plans for dual access points and the cost was a deal breaker.

I think it was to mimic the fake air intakes (or whatever the hell they‘re supposed to be) on the ICE F150. All cosmetic.

The VIN for the 2024 are coded different than 2022 and 2023.

For 2023 the 8th digit is the battery size. L = Standard Range, V = Extended Range.


Here is code chart for 2022/2023 VINs.

I think Ford changed the codes for model year 2024 trucks.
I'm seeing position 8 with K for SR and 7 for ER

Believe it was designed for potential EU market to be setup for right hand side charging. Potentially optimistic thinking by original designers.

Very possible. A lot of curb-side charging there.

It's not. There is no bracket reinforcement under the false door. There is nothing to bolt the CCS socket to.

It was design plain and simple. Then eliminated to save on cost.
