But it's wrong to say Ford doesn't sell buy backs and we're all misreading trade in as buy back on a carfax
If you had read my post ENTIRELY you would have known I was talking about what they did 21 years ago when I worked for Ford. I didn't say it was still the case and the reason I put the (21 years ago factoid) in my post.

Ford buys back vehicles, sometimes lemon law, sometimes not, fixes them, and then offers them for sale. Sometimes title is changed to note that also.
I'm aware of that, I did work for ford for 11 years after all. I stated they buy back and DON'T resell vehicles they have tried to and failed to fix, I'm not talking about lease buy backs or customer satisfaction buy backs, I'm talking about CAN'T BE FIXED buy backs.

And again,....... this is TRUE 21 years ago, I have no idea in this day and age if they resell vehicles they can't fix or not, seems counterproductive to do something like that that becomes a liability not to mention the bad blood and adverts they get from selling broken junk.

For me I think what it comes down to is the delivery.

What may have been true 21 years ago may not be true today and (in my opinion) the post should start with that rather than including a disclaimer and then continuing to state that what the user is referring to is a trade-in especially when there are posts on the forum indicating otherwise.

Re-reading your post and follow-up I see where you're coming from and I do appreciate your insight and experience, I was just pointing out the discrepancy as it relates to the question starting this thread.

Ok man. I read the whole thing. Your topic of your reply is a statement as a matter of fact then mentioning a caveat is not the same as starting with the caveat.

All of your replies since is you discrediting yourself. Very odd.

Anyways it's clear Ford sells buy backs from the replies and what is listed for sale online today.

Ford has been fixing and reselling both Mach-Es and Lightnings, many with the title noting that.

All I can tell you is my personal experience from 21 years ago, whether you choose to believe me or not is on you.

We had an F 150 no one could figure out what was wrong so Ford bought it back ,then crushed it.

I bought a buy-back from Capitol Ford. It was also a 2023 Lariat. This was May and I've put about 5000 miles on it with no issues. My repair list was not nearly as long as yours however. The vehicle came from CA where buy-back laws favor the owner and many vehicles are returned for more minor issues.
How's your buy-back F150 lightning holding up? Close to 9 months since you bought it. Would you recommend buying one?

Only one issue which involved the "Stop Safely Now" message. I posted about it here: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/stop-safely-now-on-start.30505/page-3#post-626288 As you can read, it was quickly solved by just shutting off and restarting the vehicle. No other issues. I've been happy with the truck but do sort of worry about having another electrical problem, not being able to fix it, and having it towed to a dealer only to sit there until a properly trained Tech can get on it or for a part to arrive. This doesn't seem to happen often but it happens. I do love the truck, though. Really comfortable, well-designed, and decent software. I hate that Ford has quit making them and I"m glad I got mine when I did.
