Trying to add a trailer brake controller 2025 f150 lightning

I have a 2025 f150 lightning lariat need to add a brake controller I added kit number RL3Z-19H332-AA and activated it on forscan (following a youtube video lol) and the trailer brakes and all adjustments work great but... shows an alert on my dash for service trailer brake system (something like that) I cant remember the exact alert but it pops up everytime I start the truck. I put the oem module back under the dash and no longer get the alert but the brake controller doesnt work... did I program it wrong? Or is that module not compatible with the 2025? Please help if I need to order a new module im ok with that if someone can point me to the correct part number? Thank you!

Did you rename the new module with the numbers from the old one ? I know of the computer sees a different number you get the alert . I would Try renaming the new module w the old one’s numbers

I tried the same thing and Ford dealer eventually told me that my Lightning Lariat standard battery pack without pro-trailer package was not compatible. I ended-up buying a Curt Bluetooth trailer break for $350 CDN. and it works perfectly.

I've done the same and it works really great. I had actually bought it for a previous tow vehicle and now use it with the Lightning.

I had a dealer attempt to install and had the same issue so I had to go aftermarket. Ford changed something with the ‘24 and ‘25 MYs so it doesn’t work.

I found the correct module (from my research) but the 3 places I ordered from cancel3d my order due to being out of stock so i think im on to something lol

From my understanding the 2025 f150 use
ML3Z-19H332-J module had dealer find me part numbers for a replacemrbt module using 4 different vins that where 2025 models with the max tow package and all of them use that part number. I could very well be wrong but worth a shot? Lol

I'm just discovering my 2024 Flash trailer brake issues (dealer says, "this truck will never have trailer brakes!"). ouch. I already own a Curt Bluetooth controller for another vehicle -- easy to move over and try it -- but I'm wondering about the 30A +12VAUX circuit and #10 wire that should be present to energize the magnets in the trailer brakes -- Normal brake pin is #2, AUX 12V is pin 4. The CURT installation instructions says that it uses pin 4 -- and a heavy wire should be run. Maybe FORD already has that wire in place... I'm skeptical that pin 2 would be energized if the truck was never supposed to have brakes. I haven't checked underneath to verify. I hope to find out Monday with the help of local trailer shop.

I cant understand why people are still having an issue with this.. there is a thread on this forum that confirms the correct kit part number and in fact you can add the TRM to the Lightings without it because Ive done it Ive helped many do it.

The kit you have to use is the same one as the 21-23 ICE F150 and the correct process is NOT A PMI it is in the IPC towbar configuration.
