That sucks, but sounds like a problem specific to that dealer. My dealer has an Enterprise agent on sight to provide rentals to clients.
Yea I went to several dealerships near by to see if they had any available and no of them did. A couple years ago, I had a Bluetooth issues with my previous Lightning and I took it to a dealership closer to where I live and they gave me a loaner the same day. Used it for 3 weeks with no issue.

He has an ICE F150 with 10R80 automatic transmission. CDF drum is internal part to that transmission that commonly fails and needs replaced. There is an updated Ford part # with machined lip. Nothing that pertains to a Lightning. But his experience obtaining a Loaner is and does apply..

One of the abbreviations that I didn't know.
Sounds like clutches made into an assembly in the transmissions.

Ford BEV rep said that they would cover rental over the dealer $40/day limit if the VIN for the rental was from a Ford vehicle. Dealer said extended warranty (not yet in my case) would increase limit for rental to $60/day.

second update: The dealer is saying the issue is from the hitch harness and they are going to replace it. they quoted 1100 for the diag. and repair. unfortunately my truck just went over the 60K miles so I'm on my own. I think I let it go once fixed. The number of the the problems it gave me in such short period will suffice for my life time. I think this is still a developing product and it's not worth the trouble. it's a great idea but terrible execution.
last update Nov 15. Truck is back and the repair description is (see attachment)

this is the second time the truck is gone to the dealer. The first time they replaced the 12v battery and updated few modules, the problem went away for couple of weeks, then it came back again worst. the first time I was able to drive the truck despite the warnings, the second time it will start but will not drive. the light on the start button will keep blinking and I'm unable to put it in gear, the shifter wont move, the display wont even show the charge level of the truck.
Have a similar issue and the trucks been in the shop for 2 weeks. First was the 12v battery and BECM needing replacement. Wait for parts and install, then find out 2 battery modules and a negative HV junction box. Guess how long it'll take for the new parts...

2 weeks

I have owned an F150 Lightning for over two years. I have loved driving the truck and wouldn’t want to drive anything else as a daily driver. About 8 months ago I decided to trade my 23 to a 24. The main reason was 0% APR and the 23 didn’t have PaaK since the Bluetooth connection never worked. Took it to several dealerships and they weren’t able to repair, but not a big deal. The truck change was very minimal and only when towing did I notice a slight difference.

A couple weeks ago I was driving back from a concert with my wife and the Lightning told me to pull over immediately and my power was drained. My charge was at 88% and I was confused on what was happening. I got several service alert including pedestrian sound notification wasn’t working. After a few minutes I was able to turn the truck back on and drive it for a few minutes but then it would give out. After doing this a few times over an hour, I was able to get to our hotel which I was only a few miles away. In the morning I drove it over to a dealership that was less than a mile away with no issues.

The dealership has worked on my truck and has detected there a several electrical issues and they are reaching out to Ford techs for help on this issue. This is the same response I got from the PaaK issue on my 23 Lightning, and no resolution was determined by Ford techs.

My question is has anyone else experienced this same issue? Did you get your truck back and how long was it in the shop for?

I feel that I am screwed and won’t get my truck back. I am frustrated with how Ford is handling this and not being able to get a loaner is annoying. I am sad because I really loved driving my truck even when everyone around me makes fun of my electric vehicle and tells me to switch to an ICE truck. It just sucks that I defend my truck and it has let me down like this and a few other times I haven’t mentioned.
This same thing happened to me. Only I couldn’t get it going again. I waited over 2 hours for a tow. The flashers wouldn’t even work. I had it in the shop 14 times but the service department put two lines down, 1) electrical issues 2) routine maintenance. There is not routine maintenance at 800 miles. I told them that the truck is unsafe and I was going to have to file a Lemon Law case if they didn’t buy it back and get me a new truck. After 5 weeks I got wh they called an offer. Less than half the value of the original MSRP and nothing for the dealer options

The same thing happened to me. It shut down on my way to go fishing. This was the 14th time it had been in the shop for a power train shutdown only this time I got what felt like a thousand error messages. I couldn’t get it to turn on again and I waited over 2 hours for a tow. After several ā€œdiscussionsā€ with ford they offered to buy it back. Carmax gave me a better offer than ford. They put three batteries in over the visits so it wasn’t a simple battery replacement like someone else here said. After a week in the shop I got it back. I’m in the process of trading it in for a Silverado.

I had the same issue about a month ago. Mine was in the shop for a week. This time they finally fixed it.
