I have the A2Z Typhoon Pro adapter, and have used it successfully about eight or 10 times. It is the biggest and heaviest of the adapters, but it seems to be well made, and has several nice features. I like that it came with a case.

I also have an 80 amp Tesla destination charger adapter that has been very handy in my travels. Many hotels have the Tesla destination chargers exclusively. Even when there are both Tesla and J1772 (L2) chargers available, I’ll opt for the Tesla - they tend to be at least 40 amps (and occasionally 48), whereas the J1772 will only be 32.

I saw the A2Z Typhoon Pro in Canada at GoEVParts - for only 216 Canadian micro-dollars - a lot less money than other points of sale, and free shipping in Canada for any Canuks looking to get this adaptor. (I bought one).

I bought a new '24 Flash in January 2025. I didn't hear anything about a free charger. Is that program still going?

I got my 2024 in Feb 2025 - no mention of a free Tesla adapter - just the Ford 120/240 destination charger/cable.

I just did a serach - looks like the cut off was originally July, then changed to October. 2024.
I ordered one, was in stock so will have it in a few days or so. The joys of living out in the sticks.

I've been researching these adapters... and recently the UL2252 standard has appeared.

Some will portray it as a "cheap knock-off" but Amazon FTSLVHi claims to be UL2252 certified, and from a quick look appears to resemble the original Ford supplied adapter, and the Rivian one.

I'll take care when using it (likely not often) and ensure not overheating etc. and will report back...

It is a cheap knockoff. Sold by YDWY... Chinese company. A fraction of the cost of quality adapters. This design was made obsolete by the newer design.

Thanks Rick... the issue becomes, is there anyway of telling "quality" apart from charging a high price? I have investigated, and seems Amazon claim to require to see certification when it is stated in a seller description. After arguing with their bot, and then agent x 2, it has been referred to "higher authority" as to whether Amazon will confirm it is UL2252 certified. If it turns out not to be, back it will go and hopefully $50 or so compensation.

The general consensus is you have three options, A2Z, Lectron, or the Ford branded Lectron adapters. Many of the other third party options have safety issues that could damage you or your vehicle.

Thanks again, but "Many of the other third party options have safety issues that could damage you or your vehicle." can be speak for "you need to pay for our overpriced adapter"

I'll see what Amazon come back with. UL2252 should sort this, but Amazon need to know they must verify this... lets see what happens to the listing above.

FWIW, I would not touch it. We have the A2Z adaptors for both the Lightning and the Tesla. It.just not worth the risk. Buying VEs new or used are BIG investments. Last thing you want to do is cause yourself a serious problem over a $100.

JUST. NOT. WORTH. IT!!!

If UL cert is your hold-up
UL Cert is not my hold-up. However, if an item receives UL Cert, meets my requirements / good reviews, and is (significantly) cheaper than the competition, then I will likely buy it.

As above, Amazon "state" (or repeat) it has UL Cert. They claim to have processes to ensure where UL Cert is claimed by a seller, Amazon verify it does. Amazon have been challenged to confirm for this item.

I leave the reader to guess how Amazon will respond  If it does not have UL Cert, I expect Amazon to refund the cost and alter the listing. If they want the item back fine, but I will challenge them to destroy it, especially if it has fraudulent UL2252 markings :lipssealed:
