I took the bait and switched to Hankook Ion HT tires

I made the switch. My 23 Lariat ER was needing tires at 35,000 miles due to a tire puncture so I made the switch. I was planning on going with the Michelin Defender LTX tires but I figured I try these new Hankook's after watching Kyle Connor's infomercial on Out of Spec and reading about them on the Rivian owners forum. I ended up calling my local Discount Tire store and ordering them since they don't stock them. So compared to my old General Grabbers they are slightly louder probably since they are new. Wet weather traction is awesome in our Georgia monsoons. My range seems to be slightly better in my limited driving over the last day. It looks like I'm getting about .4 MPK better but it is too early to tell. I would upload pictures but my truck is trashed with all the rain we have in Georgia and it being covered in mud. Price was a driving force coming in about $100 less per tire compared to the Michelins. Along with it's 80,000 mile rating. Hankook is also running a return it if you don't like it promotion so I figured why not.

I currently have about 5000 miles on my Hankook iON HTs and am entirely pleased with them. Not sure I can claim that they have improved my mileage, but it certainly didn’t go down. The most noticeable difference between them and the Michelins I had before is a slightly stiffer ride, but still smooth and pleasant.

I also recently picked up a set of these tires for my '24 Lariat. Ride has improved signifcantly over the stock Dynapros. Smoother, quieter, stiffer ride. Great first impressions and really happy I went with these. I'm very much a Continental person these iONs were nearly $200/tire cheaper for the same performance based on reviews.

I'm on the stock Lariat 116T Goodyear tire on my 2023 -- not the Hankooks. How are these compared to the alternatives? If I can get ride improvements and range improvements with a better tire, that sounds nice.

I am averaging .4 miles per kilowatt better than my General Grabbers. Ride quality it’s awesome. I care about wet weather traction here in Georgia and it is awesome. Price came in at $232 a tire which is significantly cheaper than the Michelins I was cross shopping. I have about 100 miles on them now. If everything stays the same with these we will be putting a set on our Rivian R 1S in a few months.
