Thank you guys, what you are saying makes sense, I tried reaching into get a pull on it but cannot, working on getting a mobile mechanic to come out and lift the truck up and pull the skid plate down so we can disconnect and re-connect the connector. There is a possibility that it is a problem on the inside of the battery as well. Not sure if I want to take it back to Ford from previous experience as well they were the last to have hands on that connector.
I had a quick-jack you could have gotten while you were here had I known.

Update: not great. I was able to slide under the truck enough to take the skid plate off and disconnect the cable, sprayed it out with contact cleaner and CDA, re-seated and tapped it in to make sure it was well seated; re ran the network test but no improvement.

This was a Build of 11/22 We had power train faults that were caused by the shifter, they replaced it be every now and then it came back but could not get it to do it with them so they did nothing, I think that was the early indicators.
The shop said they called ford and asked for consideration and they said no. They gave me a number (not one of those) to call and and they said no right away, did not want to discuss any options. I can try calling them at those numbers and appreciate you giving them to me /advice

Here is a screenshot of the toolbox.

@Jesse-Infotainment

i notice his PSCM is also off Line. My PSCM is often grey in accessory mode. Could he have a power issue preventing those modules from waking up,? since it seems
the truck drove since the dealership touched that plug.

There are other times it is online, like this one:

I am thinking of buying the salvage battery available in Houston, it is a long range battery and putting that in. Would cost me about $4k to do the whole thing, must less than they wanted to do one module which really would have caused me more problems down the road.
What are your thoughts on this one.

They sent me pictures of the pack removed, there is no damage to the outer shell and the connectors are in good condition. They will take it back if I can't get it to work for a full refund.

Are you resetting the DTCs when you connect FDRS up before doing anything else? Just curious.

Yes, each time the new board looks like this: All the DTC's are related to loosing communication with the HV system.

I’ve seen diagnostics in FDRS for bad cells. But this looks more like a bad BECM. I mean all the loss of comms going to that module is what strikes me. In order for you to know if you actually have a bad cell (or more than one) the BECM would have to be working. That’s what monitors and performs cell balancing. But it looks to me like the BECM itself is what could be the problem.

And I wonder if the BCMC also being offline has anything to do with this.

I am going to go forward this next week with the battery replacement from the salvage one, it has 35k miles on it so it should be good, all I am out is the cost to pick it up and put it in the return if it doesn't work. The first problem was with the battery pack so that I don't think went away.

I wonder if there were any DTCs that indicated a cell going bad earlier than 100K miles that the dealer cleared? Would there be any record kept of all faults on a VIN by Ford even if cleared earlier? Dealer seems a bit slippery. Call the BEV team and ask? Anyone think this possible?

If there is a cell imbalance of any significance the BECM picks it up and it’s reported to Ford servers when it happens. I know this because of a TSB that says there’s no need to order replacement cell kits by the dealer because the info on which cell(s) are bad is sent automatically and the system sends replacement cells to the dealer without any intervention. That was the info provided by the recall. So they know when bad cells happen. Your truck tells them when it reports to the cloud.

Just to be sure you may want to verify 15A fuse 146 is good inside the BCMC. That's according to diagnostics in the workshop manual. That's the one for the BECM.

But I've checked for a "fail" in the BCMC in the workshop manual and that's quite literally not mentioned at all. I wonder if the BCMC has gone bad? The BCMC would need to be functional to provide power to the BECM (fuse 146). This is weird.

So if I was on a trip away from my local dealer and I had a powertrain malfunction due to bad cells, Ford would still send the replacement modules to my local dealer? Or are you saying that once I get to a dealer that finds a bad module, then Ford sends it out? Which TSB are you referring to?

From the TSB about the recall due to bad cells.....I don't know if it would apply currently...the part about automatically shipping the repair kit to your dealer......but yeah, Ford knows when your truck has a cell imbalance.
