I found this encouraging related to FORD's future here in US.

This is very similar to a typical new Ford Bronco above the frame. It may have questionable off-road ability but if it passed you on the highway, it would just be another Bronco.

Underneath it has a 104 kWh LFP battery made by BYD. It will only be sold in China, but you know Ford is gaining a lot of knowledge on what is possible and what can be done using their existing body designs.

Ford's SECRET Bronco EV...But They Won't Sell It In America?!

My point, just because FORD stopped the Lightning doesn't mean they have stopped learning how to make EV versions of popular vehicles in the USA. No word yet on a similar China project of a T3 product, but who knows?

Hopefully these vehicles along with the T3 become available in Canada now that Chinese cars are allowed in. With dealers and service already set up, I think Ford would do well in Canada :)

If the 403 mi range is based on WLTP testing, then it's probably more like 300 miles EPA.

Yes, could be lower, but I doubt it would be that far off...the test video mentioned that the km/kWh he was seeing included some heavy footed driving before he got in the Bronco.

Sometimes I get over 3mi/kWh in my Lightning - mild weather so no heat of AC, no aggressive driving, slow stopping and starting, 20-35mph speed, etc. But mostly I get in the 2,2-2.4mi/kWh range.

But the EPA range tests of EVs have been a subject of controversy since I bought my 2012 Leaf in 2011.

I always got better range than estimated based on the way I drove it, usually I averaged 4.3 mi/kWh so a range of 4.3 x 21 = 90.3 if charged to 100% (the 24kWh battery really only had 21kWh usable). The EPA said 73miles range.

Some people got less.

We'll never know what the EPA says until Chinese originated EVs can be sold in the US. Everybody else in the world will have them. From my friends overseas it seems the Chinese EVs are a big hit in other countries...alas.
