  1. Guide to Reducing Cabin Noise and insulation upgrade on F-150 Lightning

In the first post you mention Thinsulate between the roof and headliner, but almost all the rest of the discussion is about the doors. I have a question about the headliner. How did you get the headliner down? I've watched a video that showed how, but it was from a older F-150. Almost...
  2. Observations from 1st road trip so to speak

One more thing, do a little research. PlugShare.com almost always has photos of the chargers and will give you a good idea what the facilities allow. Google Earth can sometimes help and if Street View has new enough photos that also will often help scope out the potential location. Lastly...
  3. Observations from 1st road trip so to speak

That is an incorrect assumption. Early Tesla SuperChargers were designed only for Tesla vehicles. All Tesla vehicles have the charge port on the drivers side rear corner. That means if a Tesla backs into the spot, the charge port is on the right side (as viewed as you approach the spot)...
  4. Hansshow NACS to CCS1 Extension Cable

That's the problem - you can't. What I don't know is if the charge rate limit available in the 2025 MY works on DCFC or only on AC charging.
  5. Adaptive cruise with nothing else?

Wow! The closest setting is WAY to close for safety. I have it set to the farthest and that is just barely at the minimum distance that your driver safety training will tell you to follow. At least what's in the vehicle code here in California is 2 seconds following distance. The longest...
  6. Hansshow NACS to CCS1 Extension Cable

Having watched both videos linked in post #3, not just no, but HELL NO!!! Way too many issues. Just how hot it got was scary. Really would not want to handle 140 degrees for long without gloves, and obviously serious issues if it's getting that hot. And the reality is that I don't...
  7. Adaptive cruise with nothing else?

I use the Adaptive Cruise Control far more often then Lane Centering (don't really trust it). Just turn on Cruise Control and it sets the speed to whatever you are currently driving, and you're good to go. Although I have seen a thread here that turning on Cruise Control will automatically...
  8. 40 amp charging on 8 awg copper.

Bad job on wiring the plug. Way too much exposed wire on those terminals. And perfectly legal and commonly done, but personal preference is to NEVER use bare wire for ground in a box with exposed terminals.
  9. Powering your home via PPO WHILE also using solar

A very simple and SAFE way to do it. Completely avoids issues of AC power control / phasing / etc.
  10. Ford EVSE finally installed

Pretty much, yes. Use the FordPass app.
  11. Early Access Program. Pro Power email

I like you applied for the Early Access program and really never got any confirmation. But I have gotten a couple messages as part of the program. I received the same E-Mail that you did yesterday and completed the application survey. I did find a few questions rather funny as they...
  12. Powering your home via PPO WHILE also using solar

There is a massive difference in off-grid vs grid tied inverters. Off grid inverters are designed as stand alone devices that expect that they are the sole source of AC power and MUST regulate voltage and frequency as the loads change. Off-grid inverters normally can not be connected to any...
  13. Powering your home via PPO WHILE also using solar

The problem is that your solar inverters are designed to take whatever DC power is available and make the maximum amount of AC power from that. They have no provision to lower the power output to match your house load. For example, if you have 10KW of DC power from your solar panels, the...
  14. Sunroof Lariat

Better answer, leaking glass roof sections has been a consistent issue with damn near all vehicle models that have them. One of the major reasons I refuse to buy any vehicle with a glass panel roof section
  15. Ford EVSE finally installed

I don't have details, but a bunch of people are reporting that they are getting the smaller charger, that also does not support vehicle to house system.
  16. Ford EVSE finally installed

RLXXI, you have the Ford Charge Station Pro (will work up to 80 amps - not that your 2025 Lightning will use that much), whereas Highpi has the 48 amp Ford Connected Charger.
  17. Auto Unlock on rear doors

Kill you, rob you, rape you, carjack you, steal the vehicle, you name it. If you are trying to escape via your vehicle, letting the bad guy into the vehicle is not a good idea. Unfortunately, it happens regularly. Similar concept to seat belts. I am likely alive because of seat belts and use...
  18. Good news - More Rivian chargers opened up to non-Rivian vehicles

That's incorrect. Rivians pay less than other vehicles. As far as I can tell, there is no non-Rivian subscription to get a lower price similar to what Tesla, and E.A. offer (and I think a few others).
  19. Good news - More Rivian chargers opened up to non-Rivian vehicles

There is a reason I use my ham callsign as my ID on most forums, E-Mail lists, etc. I meet a lot of other hams that way :) Not yet. I have not gotten radios installed yet - coming soon. Just using two UHF handhelds on my regular wide area linked system - one for transmit & receive and the...
  20. Auto Unlock on rear doors

And don't forget that around here the criminals have more rights than the honest citizen...
