Great thread. My FCSP arrived two hours ago. My expected project for this weekend is to replace the 14-50 outlet that I temp installed a few weeks ago and install the FCSP (and replace the breaker with a 60 amp). Yes, I installed the 14-50 with wire sized for the 60A circuit and I am...
Stare at the meter - not read it on line. That will give real time (or at least close) data. I'm with SCE and the website updates every 15 minutes.
In my case, the meter cycles through 5 or 6 items, but it's pretty obvious which one is the current load (positive for net flow towards my house...
Is there way to upload a map locations file (Google Earth .kml or GPS .gpx or .loc etc.)? My specific application is to be able to upload a GPS file with saved GeoCaches. It would really be cool to have all the GeoCaches in whatever area I'm in showing up on the map.
More likely the inverter (or inverters) are commanded off. The reason is that grid tied inverters are dependent on the utility power for a frequency reference (the inverters MUST sync to it), and more importantly, they always operate in max power mode - in other words, they generate as much AC...
Thanks for that. I was about to post a "charging ignored my preferred times" to this thread. But this explains it perfectly. I got home last night and plugged in the mobile charge cord at 1828 and 40%. Preferred charge times at "Home" are 2100 - 1600 daily because of my Time of Use rate and...
Of course it will. You increase your house load by about a kilowatt, your draw from the utility will go up by a KW.
Perform the tests that I explained yesterday. You should not need to post photos, just the actual numbers.
BTW, you said you're in Southern California, where are you?
I am on a Time Of Use rate. When I first got solar, the daytime vs nighttime rates made it far more to my advantage. I was forced onto a different TOU rate plan after five years that is FAR less to my advantage. The peak rate is from 1600 - 2100, during which time the solar is rapidly dropped...
You are likely forgetting about the rest of your house load, and I can almost guarantee you are not getting 13 KW from your 41 panels - unless they are all tracking the sun (VERY unusual for a home install).
Here's a test. First of all, turn off the truck charging, and then turn off the...
Why are you trying to make this complex. Assuming you have one meter (as opposed to a separate meter for the EVSE), it's very simple math. House load (including the EVSE) - solar generation = utility meter load. If the math results in a negative number, you are feeding power to the utility...
As I said, if the solar is producing less than the house load, than some of the house load is supplied by your utility. For example, if the solar is producing 6KW and the house load is 8KW, then your utility is supplying the remaining 2KW of load.
And again, the truck charging is irrelavent -...
I have had solar with Net metering for about six years so I can answer that part. The truck really has zero impact on that - it's just another house load.
Whatever the solar is producing gets sent to your main panel. If the house load is larger than what the solar is producing, then some...
The reduced speed was likely the bigger contributing factor to eeking out a little more range.
Strong suggestion, even if you don't NEED to, try out a couple different public charging stations of different types. That way you will learn the good, the bad, and the ugly to using public charging...
My Lightning up at a local 2-way radio site. The site lost utility power a few days ago and our site generator was not working. We temporarily had two 2 KW Honda generators keeping the site battery charged. But those needed to be fueled regularly. This was a trip up to fuel the temporary...
Getting off the politics and back to the damaged SuperChargers. Hate to see vandalism of any sort. Particularly when people depend on those chargers being there. So not only is it an problem for Telsa, but also potentially the people who depend on that infrastructure.
Just my two cents...
For whatever it's worth, the A2Z Typhoon Pro came with a very nice custom fit zippered case. Unfortunately, it does not quite fit in the upper glove box...
Thanks for the reply. I bought the A2Z Typhoon Pro adapter the day after I bought the truck, so I'm good on a NACS adapter - in fact I expect to be using it in about an hour...
As for the home charger, when I asked my dealer how to order that, he said I order it through the FordPass app, but...
