my comment from the get-go was that the first thing in the video is someone stating that they are towing a 10,000lb trailer/skid steer, NOT a 17,000lb item. I chose not to watch the whole video, because, after all, it served little purpose.
You didn't watch it. (Not that I think it was a stellar video.) He did hook up ~15,000 lb + trailer load to the truck.

If you don’t want to watch then just skip. I was busy last night so I didn’t watch it either. But I thought it might be helpful for those who plan to tow heavy items.
Based on the responses, it would seem not.

People need to have responsibility for what they post, or repost. If you haven't read it, you shouldn't post it.

Some one did test to tow more than spec, regardless user manual specified or common sense, and I believe Lightning owners here won't bother to try.

It does provide some value, isn't it? At least you know it can do, in rare case someone needs to do so.

If you don't like the idea of towing 17000lb, just skip it. At least Lightningers have the opportunity to know such thing happened, alright?

My issue isn't necessarily with them towing that much...as long as they do it on a closed course(no safety risk).

My issue primarily is they are doing it on a vehicle that presumably would be sold to a customer. I don't think its right to knowingly abuse a vehicle(towing above mfr limit) on a vehicle you intend to sell as "new" or "demo".

Agree, that's a different issue. Apparently they are abusing their demo unit.

I hope it is not the one that someone ordered and waiting to pick up.
