That's more than I expected.

https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North America/US/2022/06/02/ford-2022may-sales.pdf

Our electric vehicle sales, with the addition of F-150 Lightning this month, increased 222 percent – growing at almost four times the rate of the industry.” – Andrew Frick, vice president, Sales, Distribution & Trucks, Ford Blue

Sales of the F-150 Lightning are underway. At the end of May, dealers took delivery and sold 201 F-150 Lightnings, with many more in transit as volumes continue to ramp up. More than 75 percent of the people who have reserved an F-150 Lightning are new to Ford, according to reservation data.

Mustang Mach-E posted a new monthly sales record – sales up 166 percent over last year, E-Transit sales had its best monthly sales since its launch earlier this year with 874 vans sold, while F-150 Lightning records its first customer sales at the end of May,

Only a few of those are represented by the ones on here. I was slightly surprised when we lucky to have @oneguynick as the first customer delivery. Most people are not into keeping up with production and delivery like us.

I am curious what fords EV tax credit claims are like now. They sold well on the mach-e and e-Transit but didn't deliver that many Lightnings yet. I will guess that they deliver 1800 Lightnings this month. Hopefully least half of those are delivering many of the April builds that are sitting on lots.

My estimate is we are around ~177,842 EVs.
171,588(est thru Apr 22) + 6254(May sales)= 177,842

As stated below just an educated guess and does not include PHEVs which could chip away at that number.

That means on the order of 22,000 before ford hits the cap. That means if they hold at 6000 EVs a month they could hit the 200k limit in Q3 2022, which would mean full credit Q3/Q4 2022, 50% credit Q1/Q2 2023. If they can somehow hold out until October..then everything shifts to the right 3 months.(That seems unlikely).

Of course all bets are off if Congress somehow passes new/updated EV credits(fingers crossed)

Below is what I posted at the end of Apr 2022--
---------------
Update: As the end of April, Ford sold 10,500 Mach E and 1500 E Transit EVs..bringing the 2022 yearly total sold to ~12,000.
US: Ford Mustang Mach-E Sales Reached A New Record In April 2022 (insideevs.com)

If we add that to the 159,588 sold up to 12/31/2021....the magic number is now sitting around 171,588.
IRC 30D – Plug-In Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit Quarterly Sales | Internal Revenue Service (irs.gov)

As a reminder under the current EV tax credit rules, the credits will begin to phase out the 2nd quarter AFTER Ford reaches 200k EVs sold. Based on the current rate that's probably q3 or possibly q4 this year. That means the credit would possibly still be in play at the full rate for all of 2022 deliveries and possibly the beginning of the 2023 deliveries.

Notes: The 2022 total does NOT include sales of Ford escape/Lincoln Corsair PHEVs which count towards the 200k limit..altough the numbers appear to be low. Timing assumes Ford stays of the order of roughly 15k Lightnings for MY 22.

Just based on the forum, I expect that number to jump a lot in June. Lot of people with June estimated delivery dates.

As long as Ford doesn't sell 22,000'ish EVs in June, we are solidly in Q3 before they hit 200,000

Now we just need them to deliver all of the 2022 trucks before the end of the calendar year.

The real question is, whether those 200 are in hands of customers, or arrived at dealership waiting for picking up. I guess the later.

I wondered the same thing too but it says "sold". These are their sales numbers not their delivery numbers.

Could be a bunch of fleet deliveries too. Though I would guess you are right and Ford counts it as "sold" when delivered to the dealer (since the dealers are their real customers)

Not yet...
True.

I think there are too many people that are locked into the mindsets of "rolling coal" or "ev or die" as opposed to just reasonable solutions as they become available.

As EVs become more capable and cheaper to use, money will talk.
