Confirmed a few things today. Gauge temp, double honk, Bambi mode, door ajar chime disabled, blinker count, Lincoln Autofold and Keyfob panic button 2X press all works on my 22MY. I cannot get the Auto start stop to disable or global open and close to work (can't find the on-screen button to enable but may not have reset the APIM). Couple of things that I would be happy to find out are, is there a doo-da-doo startup chime disable configuration and Auto start/stop (I tried the as-built programming and, no dice)? I configured the programming to see if the "Glare free high beam" will work, won't find out until tomorrow on my way to work. Any others with a 22MY try anything?

The wiring would be the entire engine harness and the dash harness.

You would be better off adding it independently. I would be creating a harness to add it after I verify it works.
You mean creating an aftermarket harness to add the camera capabilities of later builds? I’d be down to buy that! ?

This was in reply to the Adaptive cruise. Unfortunately there is not harness to create for the camera situation.

Got ya. I appreciate all the info you have been posting!! I dropped my truck off for an unrelated repair and asked them to update the ipma.

Really?! All that just for adaptive cruise? Dang, if so then that might put the brakes on that idea for me for this truck at least...

Question: the dealer updated my APIM module today. If I go into forscan and load the factory as built, does it undo the update done by the dealer?

I am working on adding it. the front radar bracket showed yesterday I am waiting on the actual cruise module now. It is on back order. Once I add it I will decide to make a harness or not based on the over all install. I think it will be fairly easy. What concerns me is the number of modules that need to be touched for programming. I am making a harness anyways to add it. I never replace the actual harness.

the updated my apim instead of ipma. Just wondering if restoring my “as built” original file of the apim module (pre sync and dealer updates) removed the updates as well. Vin sent! Thank you!

Well, my frustration with Ford is definitely high as of late. One dealer didn’t do the update, a second flat out refused. Paid 70k for my platinum only to watch very useful features being given to later, same year trucks, with “OTA” updates turning out to be a marketing gimmick.

Thank you!

I already added 360.

in process of adding all the front radar and adaptive cruise.
I’ll the the driver and side cams in side of the truck.

I don’t believe I need front parking sensors. As long as I have the front radar modules. Those sensors are more for automated parking

the current ipma may need to be updated to the 21.5. Since I have already upgraded the ipma once it shouldn’t be an issue it’s just way more than the 21 ipma. Blue cruise could be apart of it.

As soon as I get adaptive cruise and lane centering working I’ll report back that it has been
it was hard to add the 360 camera? I have an XLT 21 and the dealer didn't bring the xlt with the 360 pkg and i would love to add it now. even if is a lil expensive.

Ah I see what you're saying now. I did quite a bit of digging last night about it and see what you mean now. The CCM is wired directly to the IPMA with 4 wires, so if needed, just making a harness that connects the two would definitely be easiest versus swapping harnesses, etc. I'm hoping I might get lucky with my truck and maybe it already has those 4 wires running all the way to the front sensor/bumper harness already, so just replace the front hanress and be good. But I need to check and see if those pins are populated when I get a chance. If so it'll be easier, if not, making a 4 wire harness isn't bad either.

My next question/concern is, did you have to replace your IPMA with a higher spec one to enable your 360 cameras? Looks like both our trucks would had the same base level IPMA from the factory, windshield and backup camera only. What I discovered last night is that once you add any additional assist packages, mainly 360 camera and/or trailer backup assist, that specs out a different IPMA through parts that is slightly more expensive from what I can decipher. Then looks like that higher spec IPMA is required for ACC and lance centering most likely.

Its looking like I'd have to upgrade my IPMA as well which throws another wrench in my plans unless I can find one on the cheap. You weren't kidding either about the MY22.5 modules going up in price, $600 to $2600, holy crap.

A - Its just me having a job that allows me to spend all day with these trucks and Ford Products. Plus I have a 2021 STX that is now a lariat. I have done everything you can imagine. I did the 8" to 12" upgrade, I even made it passive entry with push to start, Fixed DSS LED headlamps(Fully Functioning) upgrading to the Adaptive DSS LED soon(Waiting on the height sensors), Wireless charging, rain sensing wipers, 360 Cam, Digital Cluster, Rear Brake assist, Bliss, Power Fold mirrors, Will be adding Adaptive cruise with the hopes of getting Blue Cruise added also. Ive aded the auto dim rear view and side view. Will be adding B&O system and power running boards. I would have added power tailgate but it requires new tailgate. That will be last If I do it.

B - Your Apim is identical to the ones being shipped now. I can confirm this to be true. THe software build 21146 is limited to 21 trucks and 21223 is 21.5 trucks. The modules are different starting in July. The Apim is not one of those that is different though. I have confirmed I can install the 21.5 software on a APIM from early builds.

I believe the blue cruise will be sent out but I do want everyone that has not had any updates to please heed my warning to go get the dealer to update your truck ASAP. A lot of these updates that are rolling out have a prerequisite of the previous updates being installed.

The best thing you can do is get your truck fully updated now. There were MANY updates for early build trucks for modules that I believe to be not OTA capable.

These updates are very clear for the dealer in FDRS> There is a tab after they hook up that will list all the modules that need to be updated. It is clear for them. The IDS way required them to go into every module and see if an update was available.
Very nice, awesome that you were able to add all that on!

Any idea what it would take to add a heated steering wheel to a 22 501a? I have one on order and I think that's about the only thing I might miss, other than the dynamic LED projectors. It's unfortunate that the button for the steering wheel heat isn't on the steering wheel itself, as I imagine that throws a wrench in things.
