The 25s didn't have a spare tire or the keypad entry.
Hmmm, my 25 Platinum has both of those things.

What I don't have are the on board scales, Homelink (I installed this myself) and a few more things that are escaping me ATM.

The biggest difference that I would be concerned with is the two year difference in the battery warranty.
Yeah thought about that. As I look into it more there are still new 23's out there, that would have the same warranty. But it will always be"2" years older for resale, even if it was bought new a year after the 25 was sold. Wondering what discount would make a new 23 a better deal than a new 25?

Yep there was a huge chip shortage. I was lucky to get the heated steering wheel on my 23 Lariat. To me the double fast charging is a big deal, I can fill it up quickly once I get home on my 80amp charger.
And glad I don’t have the noisy heat pump. Going skiing with nice heat and quiet.
I currently have a Volvo EV that I charge at home at 24 amp. Charger will do 48, but already had 30 amp 220 ran to the garage and just haven't taken the time to upgrade the wiring, mainly because the 24 is plenty to get the car from 0-100% overnight if needed. What kind of times are you talking about with 48 amp vs 80 amp for a 0-100% in the 131kwh battery? (Yes I know 0-100 is not realistic 5-90% or whatever you do)

You just explained why the majority of people have no need for 80amp charging. Most people don’t come in every day with a dead battery. I used a 16 amp 240 V for my lightning for a year no problem at all. I came in one time at 35%. It was 90% the next morning, ready to go. I only have the standard battery so I understand it would not be able to top up a 131 kW.. but I have since put a 40 amp charger in , since the 16 amp was for My rav4 .

I have no need for anything more. I only have 100 amp service anyway so I can’t do more. I have one of the Emporia’s with the load balancing clamps on my main hundred amp feeds if my amperage gets too much my charger backs off this is only gonna be an issue for me in the summer under certain conditions basically when the central air, the electric dryer and the oven or stove on at the same time with everything else.

And in those cases, the charger will derate to keep everything on and safe then kick back up again when the other loads decrease. For 80 amp charging you need 100 amp dedicated circuit , this isn’t something that’s available in most houses, most homes would need a service upgrade, me many would even need to have the Transformers changed on the their pole or transformer pad as well . That level of steady amperage draw is more in line with commercial usage..

I only have 50 amp service going into my detached garage, where the EVSE is. So I have to charge at 40a. The most I have ever had to put in it at home is about 80KWh (from about 20% to 80%). It took about 10 hours at 40a.

I thought about upgrading the garage, but the truth is it wouldn’t change how I use the truck. Its already ready early morning on even the most demanding days.

In fact, I’ve started turning it down to 25a in the winter so it gives the LVB a deeper charge. I should note my typical week is only 2 or 4 short trips per week, which is why this helps (I think).

Thanks. I actually have 2 x 200 amp service lines to my house. With 4 geothermal units (i.e. electric heat). I have used 9,500 kwh in a month(more than the average home in Illinois uses in a year). So I'm confident the transformer is good. Sounds like the charge rate would be fine on 95% of my days even at 24 amp. Would probably upgrade though since we would have 2 EV's after getting the truck.

For the 131kWh battery it takes about an hour per 10% of the battery with the 80 amp (100 amp circuit). When I go skiing I charge the last 10% in 2 hours to 100% and get home with 40% to 60% (depending on which ski area I go to). I am back to 90% in 3-5 hours. I guess I really don’t need tha speed but it’s nice to know I can be at 100% overnight no matter what.

At our vacation place there is a 30 amp circuit so it takes 3x as long. In the winter we use 100% of the battery getting there (I add 15% along the way and get there with 15% left). Getting back to 95% there is a 24 hour wait.

Before I bought my area, I probably looked at 50 window stickers, no exaggeration and it seems like the 23s are about 50-50 on the heated steering wheel and there’s plenty of platinumā€˜s without them.
Ford has a program for the heated steering wheel to add the missing chip. It is CSP 22G06 and will expire on September 30, 2026. It covers trucks assembled between September 22, 2022 and March 29, 2023. It does not include rental trucks.

If your truck was originally a rental vehicle, it might not be covered even though you are a retail owner.

I must be mistaken I saw that the 25s weren't gonna have them when I bought my 24. Did you have to pay for them as line items on the Sticker?
