Alarm activated, Later Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power????

At 10:55 PM my next door neighbor sent me a text that my F150 hazards are flashing. Saw the text 45 minutes later and checked the truck and it was normal. Truck was locked and no indication that anything was wrong

I checked Ford Pass and the message below was sent also at 10:55 PM.

The truck is in the driveway on the other side from where I was in the bedroom. It's close to my neighbor's master bedroom. I don't know if the horn also went off.

I just went to the truck and set the alarm motion sensors to OFF.

I sent him a text but his notifications are silenced at this hour. I'll talk to him in the morning.

Any idea what happened?

How would an animal set off an alert?

UPDATE. My neighbor told me that the horn did not activate, only the Hazard lights activated for a short period of time. My truck is about 30 feet from his master bedroom window.

Any wildlife able to be in the view of the IR sensor emanating from the trucks dashboard!

Do you have a tonneau cover, possible small animal scampering across the top might have tripped the sensor causing an alert.

I'm just brainstorming for a plausible cause, outside that, maybe a data transmission error from the Ford Cloud burped out something.

Thanks for brainstorming. I think that something triggered the interior motion sensor in the cab or just a brain fart from the alarm/sensor system.

I thought that PaaK might be the case but the welcome illumination would not have caused Fordpass the notify that an alarm was activated. Plus neighbor said hazards were flashing fora short period of time.

Last night after getting notified I went to the truck, when I approached (with both my Phone AND Fob) the welcome lights and power running boards did not activate as they usually do when approaching at night. I then used the keypad to unlock the door and when I entered the truck none of the interior lights came on and the dash and screen did not come alive as expected. Once I hit the Start button the screen came alive. Strange. So it looks like that was disabled due to Alarm activation.

Still trying to make sense of it.

I got in truck today and got the infamous
Powertrain Malfunction Reduced Power message. I hit OK and the yellow wrench was displayed
Power on drivers center display still shows 100% available.
After 10 minutes of driving the wrench disappeared.

More info. Prior to this happening I left my OBD2 WiFi device plugged in and truck was parked for over a week.

Now I’m thinking maybe the OBD2 made the 12v to drain causing the alarm and the powertrain issue. Now that I’m driving it, the voltage is back up to 95% and the wrench is gone. What are your thoughts?

This might the culprit, hopefully no further issues pop-up, MY-24 LVB should still be good, but I don't know how those OBD2 devices impact the situation long term. If it's not a hassle, I'd unplug it for longer parked periods like you had.

Yeah, that was a delete for us, but you can add it back in apparently, and they probably added them back in after the deletes that were on the 23s
