I didn’t buy the extended warranty at purchase so I’m sure I’m gonna get royally screwed when I do purchase it before the factory warranty expires. I can’t buy Graingers cuz I’m in Calif but I totally agree the extended warranty is needed.
I could be wrong but I think the price is the same if bought in the first year and the increase after that until 3/36 is small. The biggest price difference by waiting is when Ford increases the warranty prices across the board a couple times a year. Granger usually posts on the forum when that's about to happen.

It would be nice if a CA dealer steps up and offers discounted warranties online like Granger.

Diesel guys say the same thing. "Ah, these last forever." I bought the Ford ExtraCare ESP when I bought the truck at 81k miles. The warranty covered a several hundred dollar BCM repair, a $3,000 engine oil leak repair, and another smaller repair in the first two years I had the truck.

IF I decide to keep this Lightning at end of lease, a Ford ESP will 100% be purchased if possible.
Make sure you buy it before base warranty 3/36 is over or else the price sky rockets.

I've checked Granger several times with all of my trucks and they are always more expensive than Flood Ford where I buy mine from.

Correct about getting it before 3/36, after that it gets a lot more expensive to the point of having to bring the vehicle to a dealer for inspection before they'll sell an esp.

You’ve never experienced greed until you’ve bought anything in California, especially vehicles. The the deceptions are top notch as well.

You can thank Gavin and his blue horde for that.

Sounds about as bad as my purchase. You didn’t by any chance buy from Ken Grody in Redlands, Ca?
I did not, I got screwed, in more ways than this issue, by Currie Motors of Frankfurt, IL. Sales guy isn't there any more.. hopefully they are better now.
