I've seen that. No disrespect intended to you, but the opinion of Car & Driver and AI do not mean anything to me. Hell, even Ford has released information that has proven to be contradictory to themselves, so 3rd party opinions mean even less. I trust Jesse's opinion 100x over anything unofficial from a 3rd party or even official from Ford. If it weren't for TRON, we might have BC 1.5 already. :ROFLMAO:

Fair. All I know is Fors ran a whole PR campaign last week talking about 1.5 in the Mach E and it was widely stated it was not backwards compatible at this time. Which I find insane. They expect us to believe they will magically get good at software and services upon the release of their next gen EVs. I’m doubtful.

It stands for trusted real-time operating network. It's an encryption Ford added to certain modules in newer vehicles. So, we can't use that software in our non-TRON vehicles.

Not paying full price for stale milk and day old bread. Especially when there is fresh milk in the markets coolers for the same price they're selling stale milk for. Same applies to day old bread.

The problem is Ford is not allowing us to buy the fresh milk and bread. Maybe they should start drinking sour milk and hard bread.

That would be 🍞 bread 🍮 pudding

And that’s referring to the MME. Do we know if they share the same hardware as the Lightning?
Well it says “vehicles” not “mach e”s. So that isn’t really known. But it also says processing power. So I’m doubtful mach e was the only one running slower processing. The hopeful part is maybe 1.6 will be built to be more efficient to bring 1.5 to older vehicles. But that sounds like a long shot since they added more power to a new module I. Mach e… why do that if you’re going to then turn around and work on efficiency.

Like I said, Ford hasn't said anything about whether BC 1.5 is coming to Lightnings, nor have they said anything about if Lightnings have the required hardware for BC 1.5.

I'm seeing lots of angst over nothing in this thread.
well Mr. MidAtlanticLightningClub since apparently you like to talk about angst…
Please find my quote where I said lightning in the first place. I said I am annoyed that ford with bluecruise seems to cut support for vehicles with hardware that’s only a couple years old on a subscription service. I never said that this was affecting lightings, as we just don’t know. You and other added angst to this thread. For a club leader, you’re not one to partake in conversation well.

We know for a fact that Ford bricked manyl ICE trucks that couldn't be updated for a long time 3 years back. We know they are having problems right now with APIM as they've halted SW updates. it's getting to the point they just don't put the time and money into porting the SW to the various flavors possibly needed. With TRON, etc coming it's likely they just decide to give up on previous models.

and it REALLY shouldn’t be this hard. The corporate structure of ford just makes decision after decision that makes it this hard.

The 2025 Mach E has VERY different architecture. Different IPMA with a new strategy location, new SCCM, new IPC to name a few.

With that said: That does not mean the previous architecture is incapable of auto-lane change; the software is just not coded to do it. The question is: Will Ford add it in the future or not.
