Ok so today was my first experience since they turned off this feature. traveling I-5 from Seattle to LA and the I-10 to Tucson from LA I use the Tesla superchargers exclusively since they work and are plentifully along that route.

It’s totally useless now.

My use case was to select the next charger I wanted to navigate to and know just how much charge I needed to get there. As others have done, I only use Tesla superchargers since they actually work. I’m also a Tesla owner so I have their app on my phone and use the Tesla app to activate the charger to get the discounted charging price

without the old public charging app so far I find it virtually impossible to get the ford navigation to route me to a distant Tesla supercharger….. luckily I’ve traveled the current route enough times that I pretty much already know how much charge I’ll need and which chargers I’m going to use

I hope they bring back the old app

i love my lightning but the software is really it’s weak point

Can you just use Google Maps or the equivalent to route you to the charger?

I save the Tesla charging locations once I use them and google maps provides me my projected battery level when I arrive. I use this all the time since I drive the same route often.

I can then adjust my speed up or down based on weather conditions to keep the projected battery level where I am comfortable.

Sure, but it's not nearly as easy as just having them appear. Plus, when it was working, you could see the stall status - now I just use the Tesla App.

If Ford were serious about EV adoption, they would take a few cues from Tesla with respect to the software in the vehicle. My Lightning is a great vehicle crippled by software.
