15" Screen control knob - is it (easily) removable? Why? .... well, maybe to clean behind it or to put a screen protector on more easily.

Like @Pioneer74 said it's glued on and also, the knob should actually help you better align a screen protector.

You should get this screen protector with the knob cutout. Works great - installed it on day 2 of ownership and 11 months later, it's still perfect - no bubbles. Like @ctuan13 said, the knob helps you line up the protector.
