Safety. To run the inverters they have to keep the 400v system energized. That means the HV wiring outside the battery is energized.No, it’s just stupid. The truck offers “keep on until #% charge reached“. But then it shuts off before the designated value put in by the driver ???? Why Ford? Efficiency? So we are forced to keep our trucks on all night using significantly more power than just the inverter. Ford should fix this so the truck works as expected.
If there is no load they can turn off main power keeping the 400v system fully inside the battery case.
Do I think 100w is the right number, maybe not, but it makes sense to have a setpoint somewhere.
