Ford App - Plug and Charge won't activate

I've never been able to activate Plug & Charge in the Ford app. Credit card is set up. I try to toggle 'plug and charge' box and it just circles for a few minutes and fails. anyone else had this issue and figured out a fix?

IIRC early in the roll out some Canadian members were having issue, but I think it might have been with Electrify Canada / America more so than plug and charge.

Have you tried logging out of the Ford App, clearing the cache and user data?
The recent releases of the app have been disappointing.

I’ve tried clearing cache, deleting app, even loading the app on other devices. Just can’t get it to toggle on.

Not the end of the world but would be nice to use public charging like a Tesla and not have to sift through a myriad of apps every time.

If I recall correctly the main activation portal for PNC is through the Ford online portal. If it's not turned on there it won't work through the app. This is because you don't need the app to activate the charger. It can be done through the truck or can automatically connect to the mothership...

It should show active online. Mine is because that is where you have to add the credit card.

Perhaps your truck can't phone home due to poor cell service.

Double check your connectivity consents & authorizations on the SYNC menu.

You could try toggling them off, then return to on, make sure to approve all the sub-features as well!!

My app says blue oval is active like the image you shared but when I try to toggle on plug and charge it fails every time .

Something to keep in mind. I activated Plug N Charge this week because of the recent attention reminded me of it.

Went to EA and plugged in to charge. Activated it with the EA app. I also have an EA subscription for the discount.

Afterwards got a Ford app notification that my FordPass was billed. Odd. Then I remembered Plug N Charge.

Plug N Charge overrode my EA app, so I got billed the higher $/kWh amount. I turned Plug n Charge off so I could utilize my EA subscription discount. Convenient, but you're costs may vary.

One more thought:

You try toggling the Blue Oval Charge Network off with the {CANCEL} option.
Wait a few minutes then re-enroll, you might need to re-add the credit card data again.

tried that. still doesn't work. I guess I'm destined to never plug and charge this truck.

I'll continue using the individual apps for now. Hopefully Ford makes this more seamless on the next EV iteration. I think easier charging at public chargers without having to use apps is a big step in the right direction.
