Ford Changed the 12v Battery Hatch/Cover

Since upgrading to an XLT ER with an August build date, I noticed something changed.

Sometime between October 2022 and August 2023 Ford changed how the panel that hides the 12v battery mounts. Instead of the old design the would slide up and down, this new design has 2 of the previous slide hooks on the bottom and the top now has clips that push straight in. No more sliding up and down, no more easily broken clips/hooks.

Agree. Good on Ford for noticing an issue and switching the design in the middle of the model year.

That’s great ! I actually said that they should’ve used the snap clips to begin with since the design implies that you’re supposed to pull on, it, not slide it up.
