Thee maps that are displayed on screen are two things. One the base maps installed at the time of the build. The connected nav shows an overlay. I had a Map update One time in my 21. It installed an updated set of maps in my APIM. I know it was done by Ford because I never did the map update myself even though I can. I noticed it many times when I would turn my truck on the overlay wouldnt display. I would have to reset my apim to get it back.. it was pretty obvious on the telenav trucks which are ICE trucks. THe Lightning uses Garmin nav and maps. So they arent as detailed in my opinion as the telenav.
The BlueCruise maps are the premapped Maps that allowed Blue Cruise to work. There used to be an expiration date in those for every quarter.
I dont know if any of you remember how many people I had to help get the new BC maps installed back before they did it OTA. I would have to create the map install and find the new AAM or AAL at that time files. They used to be installed with Gateway updates. They finally went to 2075 expiration date to prevent having a million people lose BC access like they were. Then they went to the file name versus date.
