Updated with link to official Ford Digital Experience website:

https://www.ford.com/technology/ford-digital-experience/

It shows both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capable.

So we all knew this was coming, but now we see it in the video - Fords Digital Experience:

I guess SYNC has officially been deprecated, or will be soon. I wonder how long we have till its officially EOL.

This also means no more carplay or android auto either.

EDIT: Carplay were spotted 19 seconds in on the the video. So I guess it might have it...

I wonder if they’ll keep Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, or do away with it like GM did.

Allowing Android Audio and Apple CarPlay restricts Ford's ability to extract ongoing revenue from vehicle owners. So likely won't. :(

They literally show both Android Auto and Carplay in this video.

Good catch... I must of missed that the first time. Its around 19 seconds in.

However I still believe our hardware/APIM is too slow to get this update anyway.

GM originally had it as well.
I just don’t understand the logical leap that a change in the underlying OS means leaving the two dominant, highly-demanded platforms behind.

Money... less external factors equals more money on subscriptions. If you take away 2 of the most prominent experiences, they have no choice to subscribe or just simply not buy.

I suppose. It doesn’t seem logical to me to spend a bunch of developer time on something they’re only mediocre at, at best. This idea that vertical integration is less expensive is a mantra that doesn’t actually hold up when interrogated to any detail. For some things, yes, vertical integration is better and cheaper. But if you can’t hire an entire experienced team and its IP (not just a manager), then trying to do vertical integration means a lot of extra cost.

Even in the promo video the interface looks laggy when she's scrolling. Absolutely zero excuse in this day and age for the UI to be slow and clunky and running at 15fps.

I would say with pretty much 100% certainty we will never see this, correct :)
