So I had this issue on day 2 of taking ownership of my 9,000km Lightning, 3 days ago…

Frunk wouldn’t open, service frunk error messages not ideal.

I did the manual open & module reset, then followed it up with the ol low hood emergency open reach around and voila, back in busines.

Thanks for the information saved this noob a dealer visit.

Reviving this thread because I just got this issue.

Latest update was Convenient Frunk closing (BCM - 24.5.1). Frunk failing to open only happened after my trunk's last update.

Tried opening the frunk. First pop happens. Gives 4 bad beep sounds. Doesn't power open. I can manually lift it up, with difficulty.

Pressing button on the frunk, the key fob, app, or dash button refuses to close. Truck does the 4 bad beep sounds. Dash flashes 'Frunk System Fault Service Required". I can manually pull the frunk down and press down on the frunk to close.

I didn't understand all the talk of water intrusion in a connector and I didn't read any DIY resolution. I washed the truck multiple times by hand and hose without issue.

I have a service apt booked.

Troubleshooting based on what I read here:
1) rebooted SYNC. Didn't resolve issue.
2) disconnected 12v for ~5 mins. Exciting to get sparks reconnecting the negative. Didn't resolve.
3) pulling the red strap on lower driver side can open the frunk, but doesn't resolve issue.
4) reset the height of the frunk by holding frunk button while it was open until it beeps, didn't resolve.
5) pulled the #14-#15 fuse on passenger lower right panel, left off for ~5 min and set back in. Didn't resolve.

I see there's a TSB posted here with the same error message.

Anything else I should try?

I was OG on this post. I was advised that water somehow entered a “waterproof” connector and that it caused my issues. FWIW they replaced that part and I have had zero issues in the last 3 years.

Thanks for the update @AZT9! Hopefully it's a similar replacement for mine.
