I recently bought an F150 Lightning, and the HIS kit from SunRun. (I don’t think the value is there, btw). I originally made the purchase, thinking I could use the battery in the Lightning for time of use (basically charge it with excess solar, during the day, and then power the house at night, off the Lightning battery), but that feature is apparently still 6-9 month away.
I do have a generator input on my (2) Solis 10kw inverters, which I have running in parallel, for 100amp service, (non-SunRun solar), and I have 10kwh pylon tech batteries attached to each inverter.
I am curious to know if I could wire the HIS backup panel, via (2) 20amp breakers (one for each Solis inverter generator feed), and then set up some sort of triggering system to the transfer switch, that when the solar panels are no longer making power, it would cut power from grid, thereby, tricking the HIS system, into a backup scenario,, that would allow power to flow from the 131kwh battery in my Lightning, to the Pylontech batteries that are designed for time of use functionality.
