This concerns the possibility of your IPC not properly recording the mileage, and the need to be replaced with a new IPC. Owner letters for those involved will be sent the week of 16 Oct 23. The program will remain in effect through 31 Oct 24.
"This is a proactive program by Ford Motor Company to obtain parts from customer’s vehicles to
support an investigation. Ford has identified that specific owner vehicles are equipped with an
instrument cluster that may have a malfunctioning odometer. Ford is voluntarily conducting this
program to evaluate the performance and functionality of the obtained instrument clusters."
I want to point out before going any further that Ford estimates there are 50 such vehicles affected, across 7 vehicle lines.
The tech instructions detail the procedure the tech will use to determine if the IPC needs to be replaced.
