Keyless keypad stuck in lock only mode

So I went to open my frunk with the keypad and the doors locked when I pressed 7, which happened to be the 4th digit in my code. So I thought I messed up and tried again. Googled it and found that if you enter the code too many times it goes into this mode. But only for 15min or by using the app to unlock the door. Didn't work.
Next it said to reset the pin. Which was a pain. Figured out how to program a new keyfob in the process. Nope didn't work.
Next was disconnecting the 12v battery, but I read that disconnecting the battery may cause other issues. So I did something that supposedly made the truck charge the 12v to 100% and was supposed reset everything like I disconnected it. DIDNT WORK!
So what happens when you disconnect the 12v battery? Explosion?
Any other suggestions?

Not securing the connection properly afterwards is a concern with home mechanics. There is also this:

So it was a bad keypad. Apparently when you pushed one button it registered all buttons at once. Had to take it in for recall anyways, which ended up being 5 recalls. 1.5 days later. Don't recommend taking your truck in for a recall the same day as someone else does

I'm glad i went in to search for this i was having a similar issue the bottom two buttons would lock the door but when i entered my code it would not unlock. when thru the hassle of finding the original code and the reentering my personal pin number. That lasted about a week. went to the airport and locked my keys in the safe at the park and fly when i came back a week later i couldn't open the door with the key pad. but the paak worked and i was able to get in.. guess i will schedule an appointment pretty soon i got a 30000 mile inspection due soon as well with a recall .....

Was it the original-style built-in Column B keypad, or the later style stick-on keypad? (...if You can tell).

I think it was the built in one. They tore my door apart to replace it, scratched my windows tint in the process and I had to figure out how to fix the auto up and down feature. Was a little annoyed with the outcome.
