Leaving AC running with truck locked? - SOLVED!

You can put in your own personal key code if you like. It still maintains the original code also.

I mediately do that with every Ford vehicle I’ve owned, even before leaving the dealership lot when vehicle is delivered. I add a personal keypad code of the first 5 numbers of my Social Security number.

When I sell or trade a vehicle I always do a master software reset to delete all personal info and also reset Homelink garage door opener.

Phone as a key if your truck has this feature is great and has 100% worked so far. I walk up to truck and it unlocks for us same as if we had the FOB on my person. The APP works great also to unlock and lock etc from phone or watch as well.
I would love it if FORD would enable the Apple Watch as a key also….

I have a Flash, so PAAK is not an option (nor did I really want it). The fob works great. Almost never take it out of my pocket (and I wear cargo pants so huge pockets). I do use the app once in a while to lock the truck, and somewhat regularly to start climate control.

PaaK has worked less than 50% of the time to unlock the truck. Once I’ve entered the truck the iPhone has worked 99% of the time to start the truck. This is the same with my iPhone 16+ and my wife’s iPhone 12. The door keypad works 100% of the time so far.

iPhone Ford Pass app and the app on my Apple Watch works to unlock the truck also.

PaaK and our Apple Watches work 100% of the time with our Teslas to unlock and run the car.

Since only Lightning and Teslas I haven’t carried a key fob in over a year. I would just like a hard key for my wallet as a third backup to unlock the door in case the keypad fails or 12v battery decides to fail.

I sent an email to Fairway Ford to ask if they can provide the key and if they can cut it at the same time. They usually respond within 24 hours and I’ll report back. I can use my some of my Ford pass points with Fairway Ford so the out of pocket cost would be zero.

I took several large paper clips, tied some red ribbon and clipped them on the vents. Nothing like a nice visual showing air flow...

Dumb question department. How do you leave the AC running and leave the truck with the doors locked? Think Dog mode. If you leave the truck on or in accessory, and lock the doors, it will immediately unlock the doors and honk the horn twice. What am I missing?

With my 2023 Pro, I leave the truck and AC running and get out, the truck - annoyingly - honks loudly at me twice, then I press the lock button on my Key FOB and it locks until I return to the truck and press the unlock button.

May the Flash has a different procedure?

Doing all this does it disable the window switches on the front doors?

The reason I ask is my dogs will step on the switches and open the windows.

Now that would come in handy when I accidentally lock my keys in the truck.

But I see your problem, hope someone has a solution, doggone if I know.

When I bought my truck part of the deal was matching lock set and keys to my spare tire lock plus extra keys.
The same key that is hidden in our FOBS fits my drivers side door, glove box, console, rear locking seats and spare tire lock. It’s a large normal looking key with black plastic handle. Our truck also came with a flat one that was in the glove box. That’s my personal experience….Not sure of others.
I’ve never owned a vehicle that has so many ways to lock and unlock it, it’s pretty amazing. I love the drivers side door number pad and regularity use it also.

As noted earlier, the key was to close the door and then lock it from the outside - not use the inside lock button while the door was still open. When I attempted to lock it with the door still open and use the inside button (what I normally use), that's when it would honk at me.
